Decision letter sent as of this morning. A psychic I consulted about the contents of that letter asked me if "DLS" meant anything to me.

do people's email addresses always turn lowercase before they get the admit phone call, or is that just sometimes?

Tough to disprove a negative but I can't recall a case of it not happening this cycle.

Old post from Dean Deal:
My job is, at times, a most unenviable one. Letting candidates know that the good news will not be forthcoming is not a task I relish. Signing those letters is tough – no doubt about it. As the end of the season nears, I have to let some candidates go whose files I’ve been holding on to just trying to see if I can fit them in. You may not realize it, but many of you get multiple reviews by me and I get to know you quite well. This is a one-sided relationship, I know, and it is common knowledge that one-sided relationships are not healthy, but it works in the admissions world.
I sincerely believe this, and it hurts knowing this sad truth.

I think GW said his didn't go lower case before he received the call.

So whats everyone's thoughts on LOCI's? I am thinking about sending one if I go through today with no DLS. I'm a URM (167) with no GPA so a bit of a strange application. I was thinking about updating them on what I've been doing for work and why I want to go there (which I didn't do in my application). Thoughts?

LOCIs are welcome but you might want to hold off on sending it until the ding/wl wave goes out so if you get WL, you have something to say....or send it now and hope.it gets you into that acceptance wave that I'm having doubts exists, or moved from the ding to wl pile.

Paranoia mode here: do admin people monitor how often we check the status checker? Silly question, I know, but I'm just wondering...

Point of clarification. What's a LOCI?

Letter of continued interest

For SLS, I consider it the equivalent of the death row inmate making one last plea for his life as he's being led to the chamber.

That being said, I've already sent one.

Supposedly they have the ability to do so, but don't.

If they did it would be funny, because I made a program that checks every five minutes from 10AM-9PMEST to text me if there's a change. So since I went complete the first time (early Nov.) that's about 20,000 times.

Can I get this program? Is it just the regular status checker app?

Well, the text message thing is handy.

I think the status checker does texts, too, right? If not you can get the email for your phone.

Unfortunately my program wouldn't work unless you're running Linux, though (or a mac with PHP + a mail server installed).

Really the only unique thing about mine is that it checks more often, though.
