Thank you!! Post js1ers, anything really catch you off guard from being out of left field/not on lavitz list?
I got asked at NU how I define success IN MY LIFE and stumbled through some combination of values ethics and being a trusted advisor to clients professionally. Was not pretty.

Our applications were SO AWESOME that the adcomms were bowled over and had to take (a lot) of time to let them sink in. Enjoy February!twinkletoes16 wrote:Cicero76 wrote:You are not rejected. Question that I could figure out by reading the thread, but I'm not good at reading soo... how long does it typically take to get that "confirmation email" after signing up for a JS1 timeslot?

I had JS and she asked me, basically, the 3 glaring holes of my app.az21833 wrote:Thank you!! Post js1ers, anything really catch you off guard from being out of left field/not on lavitz list?

1st was what I'm doing between now and LS starting. This was fun.
3rd was to explain my LSAT score jump. I was honest, it was mundane.
2cnd was Why Law and a follow up of if anything I did in UG led me to this answer. I had nothing for this because i didn't address it in my application from neccessity.
Asked 2 questions.
Lasted almost 20 minutes before she said time was up.

Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I got to six, but a couple of questions were follow-up questions about something that I had said. She asked about my current job, why Harvard, what I want to get out of law school, and about my personal background (~10 mins). Left about 5 minutes for questions.az21833 wrote:Thanks sinf thats real helpful. Preparing 3 solid questions sufficient? Anybody get to 4? Or 3?

Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I got asked a lot of the standard things that have been listed. I also got asked what I would look for if I were in charge of admitting a law school class. And I was asked what I think I would overhear being said about my application if I were a fly on the wall in the admissions office.sinfiery wrote:I had JS and she asked me, basically, the 3 glaring holes of my app.az21833 wrote:Thank you!! When it was my turn for questions I asked none (which I'm now gathering is kind of a faux pas) and explained that I had no questions because there was an absurd amount of information available online...

also if you are below median on one metric by a non negligible margin, your chances of being left at the js1 alter are much more likely than 30% rate that all js1s collectively experience right? More like 60 Percent?

i had kb, she was extremely personable and friendly, and my interview was fairly short, maybe 13 or 14 minutes? i can't remember exactly.az21833 wrote:+1. Is this js or kb? Nah, it's kind of comforting to know that some things never changeWormfather wrote:Lavitz must come look at this thread and all the freaking out and just sigh.

Also very jealous of these questions. Sounds like they're grooming titansfan to be the next dean of admissions. I guess future generations can look forward to TF1s and TF2sManOfTheMinute wrote:I wouldn't mind those questions at all... kinda fun actually.titansfan wrote:

Did you have JS titansfan? I had the fly on the wall question too. I also had basic why law school, why now, explain your path from undergrad>grad school (MSc)>job>law school. She was really nice although I did make a stupid comment at the beginning
. I asked 3 questions and it was about 16 minutes.

Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I had JS and also got the fly on the wall question! I had to identify the positives and negatives of my application, then we proceeded to talk about each of those things (architecture-->environmental law, GPA, work/teaching/research experience, languages). She also asked me why not stay with what I'm doing now, since I'm already in the industry I want to work in, and ultimately what my dream job would be. I asked her three questions, and think it was around 15 minutes in total.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
