Wow. I would've accepted you based on your service alone. Send 'em a good, 'Why Cornell' essay. Thanks for your service and GL.
Thanks.

Already sent the Why Cornell with the original app. Not really sure there is much else I can update them on; and due to some military program restrictions, If I dont get offered acceptance prior to 1 April, which looks unlikely, its game over. Just have to wait and see.

Good luck to you as well.
I would definitely include that in your new LOCI. Is Cornell your #1? If so, that could be a pretty persuasive combination to get some WL movement.

Got my acceptance package today. I thought people mentioned in this thread that they got a neat-looking book. I only got a letter and a general travel guide to Ithaca...

Book comes later in a box. Mine was about 2-3 weeks after the first package. You'll get it soon!

Good to know, thanks! I was worried that they might have run out of those books this late in the cycle.

Did anybody else find it crazy that Cornell has almost 50% minority enrollment? At least that's what I think the book's numbers added up to unless I looked at it wrong.

Maybe you can check multiple boxes. So adding up the %s individually causes you to double count some.

Just picked up my book today from the post office. It is pretty nice and much more informative than the original admissions packet

Hey, my status has said "verifying materials for completion" since 1/15. Does anyone know what his means? Outside of the obvious definition that they are "verifying materials for completion." Does it mean that my files haven't gotten there yet or anything like that?

it means they haven't looked through your files and verified that they're all there yet

sent in my deans scholarship essay yesterday with the most RIDICULOUSLY stupid typo in the first sentence of the email.
Really feeling down about it because Cornell with $$$$ is my top choice.

I was able to recall the email this morning and send a replaced version. We'll see what happens. Not sure how they would feel about giving a full ride to someone who can't type an email out without a typo....

Can anyone shed light on the number of deferred applicants who are eventually accepted? Are most rejected/waitlisted?
