I honestly only applied because my bosses told me that if I got into the PT programme they would let me keep my job and my housing so that would have definitely made things a lot easier. On the other hand this forces me to quit an otherwise unhealthy environment.shntn wrote:Seriously.alwayssunnyinfl wrote:danitt wrote:Dinged. The rejections are coming fast and furious. Non-priority waitlist here as well. Surprised to not get dinged (168/2.8 ).

I received an email saying my application was complete but I have not done an interview. Is that good or bad or nothing?

Interviews are for borderline applicants, if I remember correctly, the interview request comes after you go complete. There's an email that says something like "based on your qualifications we would like to get better idea of blah blah." I think there may even be a status update between complete and interview request.KingFish wrote: Are interviews random?

For those accepted today, you mind saying if/when you had interviews?

Tough to say in an unpredictable cycle with a drop in apps. Georgetown has a huge class to fill so I wouldn't count yourself out yet.DaRascal wrote:Can the regular waitlist really just be considered a soft rejection?RecordPlayer89 wrote:Waitlisted today, too. (non-preferred)

Re: Georgetown c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Hi, I'm checking in! Got my acceptance letter yesterday--submitted 11/11, interviewed on 12/13, received letter 1/9 (I live in Hawaii, so it may take longer). My stats are 168/3.54. So excited!!!
Sidenote: people who are waitlisted, that was me last year. I was on the preferred waitlist but eventually got rejected, probably because my LSAT was a 164 at the time. So I'm not sure if it's a soft rejection necessarily... I do know others who did get in off the waitlist, but their numbers were better than mine.

So if interviews are for borderline applicants as you say, I am quite curious why I have received no updates since my application was officially held on 11/29. My LSAT is a disappointing 162 but my GPA is a 3.86, and I had a lot of (what I believe are) strong softs and even delivered a LOCI when I visited the campus last month. I'm genuinely surprised I haven't been dinged or WL'ed, so that's great, but having no other updates makes me rather anxious.kuttlefish wrote:Interviews are for borderline applicants, if I remember correctly, the interview request comes after you go complete. I'm not sure about held vs WL and status updates, but my guess is that they're going through all the to-be-decided apps first. From my understanding Held means they're going to review your app again after they get a better sense of the total pool. WL is more of a polite rejection, but they're keeping your app on file in case 5000 people decide not matriculate for some reason. Interviews are to decide who gets held/WL/dinged. I haven't heard of anyone getting an interview request after getting held or WL'd, but then again this thread is 65 pages long and I may have missed something.atwardow wrote: So if interviews are for borderline applicants as you say, I am quite curious why I have received no updates since my application was officially held on 11/29. Sounds like you get the "Held" email. I was held WAYYY back in November and have seen absolutely no movement since. I'm thinking we'll probably get reviewed again after they're done looking at new/updated applications from the December LSAT.tonton wrote:What's the difference between email for the preferred waitlist and non-preferred? Some candidates did get accepted after interview - you are remembering correctly. I'm not sure how borderline they were, though.Bucketseat wrote:Ugh, really? Re: Georgetown c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I saw on some press release that they put out that something like 38% of the class was interviewed last year. My interviewer said that he was interviewed, and he had crazy credentials stretching back to high school (although I guess he could have had a low LSAT).hohenheim wrote:Some candidates did get accepted after interview - you are remembering correctly. Point being, I think that "borderline" is a pretty broad swathe.

+1. A couple of pages devoted to interview, 3 updates, and acceptance.hohenheim wrote:Some candidates did get accepted after interview - you are remembering correctly.
