Dean Zearfoss was 100% responsive and even went to the effort of getting with their career center to pull some data about the difference between the two.

Haha...I read this post before checking in here and I was thinking to myself, "That sounds a looooot like Regulus."

Hmm, seeing only one data point on LSN for someone with numbers similar to mine (one point higher on LSAT), both 2 years WE (though he/she had law firm experience, if that matters). Gives me a bit of hope for a late admit.

Congrats all admits!

Yeah I just never bothered to check the mich status checker b/c it always just reported the day that i was checking it and didn't find it useful.

the letter was nice tho! she wrote a personalized note at the bottom commenting on my work experience since grad.

I just found out that I am going to be working until August, disqualifying me for the summer start. But I put down on my app that I would be OK with starting in the summer. Should I expect to run into some issues if Michigan says I'm only in for the summer start, or will they let me start in the fall? Does it make a difference that it is a real legit position?

On the same note, second question. I just want to make sure that I don't need to send schools an updated resume. I don't, do I? It's going to be the gem of my already-pretty decent resume, but it's not ultra-big time like a Rhodes. Frankly, it's pretty damn cool and I'm really damn excited. Anyway, I should just make a kick ass LOCI/letter asking for a scholarship increase when the time comes, right?

Dear Dean Z,

I know that I have not yet been accepted, but when you do accept me, it would bode well for our budding relationship if you would do the right thing and send me not just a flash drive, but also a substantial scholarship. By the way, on my application I indicated that I would be able to start either in the summer or the fall. That is no longer the case: I have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and will be working until August. Enclosed you will find an updated copy of my resume, which will explain the presumptuous tone that I have unfortunately adopted.

Sincerely,

I would send them a note now and let them know that summer start is no longer an option. It will not make a difference to them that you found a job now.
On the scholarship, yes, it is worth asking but wait until you get accepted :).

Funny. But I am no way presuming I'll be accepted. Really not. Happy to contribute here for humor's sake though :)

ETA the second question was a general one. I will be writing a LOCI to Michigan, and a scholly increase to UC Irvine. Note the slash ( / ), bruh

No phone calls for Mich admits? it was the last app I submitted (12/21) so I don't expect a decision for a while but I'm curious.

ED deferral here: Decided to submit a LOCI and updated resume. I have a 1% of being admitted anyway, I figured at this point, might as well give them something new to ponder over.

Congrats to everyone who has gotten in and good luck to the rest!

+1 to the others. email to let them know summer not an option immediately. don't send them an updated resume unless its something substantial and most certainly do not ask for money yet

for those that have gotten $ from UM already, did they come with your admissions letters or through the admitted students login? Have darrows arleady been handed out?

Darrow essays were due last Friday. I think decisions will be out this month. (I'm assuming there is only one round of Darrow invites.)

When I e-mailed my essay last week, Dean Z replied and said they'd be in touch ASAP, with her prediction being mid-to-late this week, so I'm hoping we hear something by Friday.

No update yet today, maybe thats a sign that todays the day I get a decision. *crosses fingers*

Sidenote: The logic I've been employing during the waiting period would score me a 120 on the LSAT

So Darrow is by email after acceptance.

For the scholly on the ASW (if one appears) does that update once a day like the status checker or should I be obsessively checking every few hours?

Just got a lengthy (surely form) letter saying basically "sorry we haven't gotten back to you yet! We will eventually"

One of the things they suggest doing is sending in any additional updates to your app- however I sent a LOCI about 3 days ago. I hope not sending somethings in response to this will not be seen negatively...
