I just got my acceptance packet in the mail today. This is all so beautiful! And this package totally blows Michigan's (and other schools') acceptance letter out of the water.

I needed a flash drive so I appreciated Michigan's. .. but UVA had a nice packet for sure.02889 wrote:I just got my acceptance packet in the mail today. This is all so beautiful! And this package totally blows Michigan's (and other schools') acceptance letter out of the water.

Very accurate. And I love the "Living in Charlottesville" book of large photos and propaganda (especially "Number 1 Best Climate on the East Coast" from the National Association of State Climatologists).02889 wrote:I just got my acceptance packet in the mail today. See this is another reason why these boards are anonymous. That statement earns at least a punch in the face from the rest of us waiters.NoodleyOne wrote: I needed a flash drive so I appreciated Michigan's. .. but UVA had a nice packet for sure.

Just saying... didn't mention anything about the merits of either school, and I really did need a flash drive. :pGisney wrote:Ha nah I mean congrats on both but yea...still had a mental image of stomping on your flash drive.NoodleyOne wrote:It was a discussion about acceptance packets. Speaking of UVAs packet... me and my girlfriend played "spot the minority" for the Charlottesville brochure... it was very hard to find any. I'm from that area but I've been away for like ten years... forgot how white it is.

Just got the acceptance call from Dean Richards! She mentioned some points on my application and discussed scholarship money. I only submitted my app on 12/5... wasn't expecting a call so soon.

Isn't the term "minority" kind of outdated?

Congrats! With that kind of turnaround, you must either VA resident, ED, or URM.hohenheim wrote:Just got the acceptance call from Dean Richards! She mentioned some points on my application and discussed scholarship money. I only submitted my app on 12/5... wasn't expecting a call so soon.

Re: UVA c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
Just got off the phone with Dean Richards - in with a $25,000 per year ($75,000) scholarship!
170/3.84 submitted mid-October but had an update go through in early November for my new LSAT score.
When she called, she asked me if I had visited UVA before, and I said no, so she asked why I wanted to go to UVA. I was so freaking nervous, my voice was shaking, but afterwards she said I was in. So excited!!!
ETA: No Why UVA

LOL. Good thing she didn't ask me that because I wouldn't have had an answer. Congratulations!LSATSCORES2012 wrote:Just got off the phone with Dean Richards - in with a $25,000 per year ($75,000) scholarship!

UVA isn't acting very UVA-like this cycle in general.jym_dawg wrote:Sorry about UVA, but congrats on NYU!Man from Nantucket wrote:After getting into NYU just got a straight rejection from UVA.. Wasn't really expecting that..
