Wait-listed. I was below both of their medians and didn't write a "Why UVA" essay, so I was probably asking for it.

WL as well (no why UVA).
Do wl'ed ppl have a shot at decent $$ if admitted? I'm currently thinking wether I should bother with a LOCI (extremely unlikely to attend unless there's big $$ in store for me).

I got the same. I think that's just the loans that are offered in case there are no scholarships? That is what I am hoping it means. Faulk said it wouldn't be until April.twinkletoes16 wrote:Got my finaid notification. All. Loans. Got excited for nothing. Thanks, UVA

In case anyone else is wondering, if you got the email about financial aid last week and saw that it just has info on loans, that doesn't have anything to do with your likelihood of receiving a scholarship, it just means that you qualified for the loans if you end up needing them.Bloomsie wrote:I got the same. Just saw this:
Do any other schools do this?UVA Admissions wrote:After May 17, the Law School reserves the right to cancel the matriculation of any admitted student who is reserving seats in both our entering class and the entering class of another law school, barring exceptional circumstances. If you believe you have exceptional circumstances that merit double-depositing after May 17, you must contact the Admissions Office at lawadmit@virginia.edu to obtain permission to remain deposited at both schools.

A fair amount do. But my question is why would you need to have two deposits down by then? You could still ride a waitlist, but I don't know why someone would need to be reserving two places in the middle of may.

IMO while the early and mid-April deadlines are bullshit, by May 1st its fair for a school to request seat deposit and withdrawal from all other admitted schools.JXander wrote:Just saw this:

In case they are undecided and have other variables that may choose for the school them. For example, their spouse is pursuing a job in both cities and won't hear back until June. Or, if you want to retake the LSAT for bargaining purposes it may be best to deposit almost anywhere you can and then use your new score to negotiate higher scholarships.RSterling wrote:A fair amount do. crossposting from the c/o 2016 thread:
Hey, excited to have all of you here tomorrow. I resigned my lease for next year but am looking to get out of it to live with a friend. It is a 1br on Arlington, $700 per month which includes everything EXCEPT internet. I currently use comcast with is 29.99 a month for that. So really 730 total, obviously more if you try to bundle it with their cable and stuff. PM me if you are interested in checking it out over the weekend. Also going to leave my 7 ft sofa which cost god knows how much, but it is a sleeper and moving it once was a pain, not trying to do it again.

Hi, I'm on the waitlist and am writing a LOCI to UVA.
My question is, I have applied to UVA four years ago for undergraduate, but got rejected. Should I mention this in LOCI to show my continuous interest in it or a previous failure actually have adverse effects? Thank you guys!
