Does UVA ever take people off the wait list before May (contrary to the WL email)? I was going to wait until closer to that time to send a LOCI, thinking I would have a better idea of my cycle by that point, but now I'm second guessing. I wasn't a YP wait list, if that helps.

I'd send it sooner, rather than later. I sent a LOCI after being placed on the WL and was admitted a week later. It can't hurt, and if you are admitted after sending a LOCI, then you'll at least know more about the options in front of you. I say go for it.

No change on status checker since complete. All I got was an email yesterday afternoon from Jason Dugas asking when a good time to call would be.

I have almost identical stats plus a couple years WE and I applied in early December, haven't heard anything

UVA is my top choice so some attention would be great

Complete since early Nov, and sent out brief LOCI in Jan. Not a peep from UVA or Columbia.

I don't know how this happens, but after almost every rejection from other schools, I've gotten some little plug from UVA about their facilities or their staff or their career prospects as if to remind me who's really there for me. It amuses me.
