Just got an e-mail from Dean Richard asking me to call. PropheticAF, Sunny.

Now to figure out how to sound competent.

He does that.

And don't worry about competency. I took my call literally on a tram/at a train station. It worked just fine.

She's super nice and it's not at all stressful or anything. You'll be fine.

Checking in this thread. Just went complete today. With my numbers I'm probably a longshot RD but if I don't get in anywhere else I may switch to ED later on.

I submitted my app ED and went complete on 1/9 (172/3.46)...I can't believe people are hearing back so quickly! No calls for me. :( No emails, either, so that might be a plus?

prepare for it like a why uva interview

my went something like this

- hello
- why uva
- admission
- full ride
- please come to uva

i have faith it will be the same for you!

Ended up being very simple. Something along the lines of:

Him: "Is this Mr. Elshal? Hi, this is Jason Dugas from UVA. We've been really impressed by your education and experience...We'd like to accept you into the University of Virginia."
Me: "OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG"
Him (acting all coy): "And we'd like to offer you a $45k per year scholarship."
Me: "excuse me, did you say per year?"
Him: "Yes, $45k per year."
Me: "ummmm okthanksbye."

And then I ran around my house screaming loudly.

Thanks for the help and advice.

Ugh, one can only hope.

When is it no longer too early to start begging with LOCIs and such? I'm thinking I could secure another LOR, too

Did the status checker say something like "package mailed"? No I don't think so.

It's a tough call. Money is by no means growing on a tree in my backyard (partially because backyards are hard to come by, here in NYC), and if I try to negotiate with an acceptance to H as leverage, I can probably get full tuition covered. It's tempting but I've decided to not make any solid decisions yet. I just can't handle such important things right now. It has way too much impact on my future and UVA is a great school. It's impossible for me to say no this quickly.

I need to think. Preferably over a couple of beers.

Congratulations! That is incredible! I got the call yesterday and was told the mailing should come within a few days, so not sure how quickly. Exciting week :D
Does anything happen between the call and mailing, like an email? Cordel said my status checker might not update right away and I want something to prove that this phone call actually took place...

I got an email asking me to call about my application. I called and was offered admission! I was told that I would have to pay sticker because my LSAT is so low. She said that I could retake in Feb and be reconsidered for merit aid if I score better.

 Did she actually say that or allude to it? It's just... unusually direct for an admissions office that is trying to woo candidates.

She straight up said it. We had a long talk about construction law and how there is a huge need (my major and work history is in construction management). So should I retake? I'm not sure I have ANY time to study and I'm not completely convinced I can do better.
