I applied on the 1st and I have not received an "application received/status checker" email.
Anyone else in the same boat? Or did anyone receive it yet?

I'm glad we haven't gotten the status checker yet...one less thing to check constantly until December.

Got the unsolicited fee waiver today through email. I'm excited over nothing.

Checking in, applied yesterday.
The person who does the dean's letter (for C&F disclosure) at my alma mater is freaking out. She doesn't understand how Columbia (and NYU, and Duke) don't provide a form to fill out. Hopefully she figures it out soon though, it'd be a shame to lose the early application advantage because of some minor discipline issue years ago...

Re: Columbia c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I received a cryptic email about how my "initial component(s)" have arrived and they look forward to receiving the remaining components (there are none...). I tried to check my application status on My Columbia Law (which is completely dysfunctional at the moment), but no records are found. When I log off My Columbia Law and try to check with my biographical info, it tells me the check through My Columbia Law. Anyone else having this problem?

Got the e-mail this morning, didn't check until now and everything seems to have been received. Wow I'm an idiot and didn't realize that we would need a letter from the Dean of student conduct regarding being written up. How does that work? Do they just send the letter to the various law schools? Kinda freaking out right now...Yukos wrote:Checking in, applied yesterday.

When I searched my school's website, they told me the administrative position that handles these kinds of things. Unfortunately, that woman had never heard of Columbia's type of dean's cert (where there's no form, they just write a general letter re the incident(s)). I guess they'll figure it out eventually but it's annoyingly complicated.moonman157 wrote:Wow I'm an idiot and didn't realize that we would need a letter from the Dean of student conduct regarding being written up. Did you answer yes to the C&F question about misconduct while in college? If not you don't need anything (though technically you failed to disclose something). If you did answer yes, check this out:

Ya got written up twice freshman year for drinking in the dorms...I guess I'll just ask around and find out who's job it is to write the letter lolYukos wrote:When I searched my school's website, they told me the administrative position that handles these kinds of things. Just checked, it's definitely the "initial component(s)" email with a link to the SC.

On a scale of 1-10, just how much enjoyable is it to live in Manhattan?
Also, do Columbia and NYU law have any recreational or educational activities that include students from both schools? It would be fun to have a sports rivalry or something of that nature.
