Also held, 170/3.7.
I don't really understand the strategy of semi-simultaneously sending out batches of Holds and Reserves (nor do I really understand the point of a 'Hold' decision at all). For plenty of people, they will ultimately be accepted -- why not just accept them now, or say nothing and accept them next month? For someone with my numbers who will certainly go from Hold -> Reserve -> ultimate rejection, why put me on hold at all? It feels pretty pointless.

Re: Columbia c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Was held as of last week. Are most people who were held planning on submitting a LOCI?
For me it feels kind of silly......it's Columbia, of course I'm still interested!
But I guess at this point it can't hurt?

I actually appreciate being notified of a hold. It at least provides a natural point to send additional info and allows the person waiting to stop checking their phone/email every 30 seconds for a while.02889 wrote:Also held, 170/3.7.

Much better than anxiously awaiting word from the half dozen schools that have effectively given me a "soft hold" and have no intention of telling me anything until April.
Held at Harvard, GTown, Penn so far.

Sorry to hear about all the holds....or happy to hear about it depending on how you're taking it. I've heard absolutely nothing since mid-Nov complete. Columbia, please stop toying with me and render my decision already!

At first, I thought:

Then I thought, "Time for a LOCI and a resume update!" And now I feel a little better about the whole thing.WaitingandHopeful wrote:I actually appreciate being notified of a hold. Sorry/Congratulations to all the holds. This is similar to H's holds, right? Not a WL, which Columbia calls Reserve? I'm sure a lot of you will hear good news eventually.

If you're out of school and have a FT job, can you send anything other than an LOCI? Not much has changed on my resume since I submitted...At least nothing the law school would really care aboutbluecouch wrote: Then I thought, "Time for a LOCI and a resume update!" God, some of these holds are really weird. This cycle is stranger than I ever imagined. It'll be interesting to survey the landscape once the dust has finally settled.
