lsp is worthless. use mylsn since it has actual data.ph5354a wrote:That's funny...my chances are only 3% better at NYU than at CLS using law school predictor.Crowing wrote:Plugging in numbers around my range gets a 13% acceptance rate for CLS and 69% for NYU with pretty large sample sizes for both. NYU has the 2nd highest acceptance rate in the T-14 after GULC. CLS is much more difficult to get into.ph5354a wrote:I think NYU's larger class size is also a factor. Even if their yield were exactly the same, NYU would still have to accept more students in order to reach 450. Still, I'd guess that the number of students who get into NYU and don't get into CLS is pretty minimal.Crowing wrote:CLS is actually quite a bit more selective than NYU, probably because their yield is better

I wonder what happened to this kid: http://lawschoolnumbers.com/PhilosophyOrLaw.
And apparently http://lawschoolnumbers.com/countercouper/jd has no idea what happened at CLS. Random YP?
And what the hell happened here? http://lawschoolnumbers.com/cg23/jd

I don't mean to be rude/bring up bad memories but I think your case with Harvard is pretty shocking too.. I never knew JS1->straight reject was a possibility.. scarybanjo wrote:I wonder what happened to this kid: http://lawschoolnumbers.com/PhilosophyOrLaw.

Just a really average person behind the numbers. This outcome isn't so terrible as to make me say WTF.banjo wrote:I wonder what happened to this kid: http://lawschoolnumbers.com/PhilosophyOrLaw.
Maybe. This one is hardest to explain.banjo wrote:And apparently http://lawschoolnumbers.com/countercouper/jd has no idea what happened at CLS. Random YP?

That's a fair observation, and probably the reason I've been thinking about some of these anomalies.spyke123 wrote:I don't mean to be rude/bring up bad memories but I think your case with Harvard is pretty shocking too.. Got the letter today (was gone over the weekend, came Saturday). It was a white envelope with a blue folder inside with a letter. No nasty colors or anything..

Then while we're on the subject, this profile has always been the most worrisome to me: http://lawschoolnumbers.com/wa810smart/jdbanjo wrote:That's a fair observation, and probably the reason I've been thinking about some of these anomalies.
And for the heck of it:

Ditto, especially since, based upon his profile, I probably go to the same undergrad as he did and have similarly weak softs.Lavitz wrote: Then while we're on the subject, this profile has always been the most worrisome to me: http://lawschoolnumbers.com/wa810smart/jd

I'm meeting a TLSer for dranks after work, so I'll definitely have to do the run home at lunch thing. I need to know whether to drink in celebration or sorrow.twinkletoes16 wrote:Lavitz wrote:

could you imagine waiting week after week for your decision while seeing people on LSN and TLS get their decisions each day. it'd drive me insane!Jpreece59 wrote:what makes you say that could be bad news?housebro13 wrote:wow after looking at last cycle's LSN page, it seems like Columbia sends out decisions daily-except Sundays-until May. thats good and bad news.

On the subject of people with shitty cycles, take a look at these:Lavitz wrote:Then while we're on the subject, this profile has always been the most worrisome to me: http://lawschoolnumbers.com/wa810smart/jdbanjo wrote:That's a fair observation, and probably the reason I've been thinking about some of these anomalies.

I was hoping we get regulus to collect a spreadsheet of some of the worst cycles, just to give some perspective to people who are sure they're having epically bad cycles.

Sweet jesus. Carterth's cycle is a travesty.
