^ Idk about collective wisdom, but if you updated this week for a third time after your interview, I'd say it's a safe bet.

Made even longer by the realization that there is no guarantee decisions will actually come out.

I have this theory: the longer we go without a twitter update, the more likely we are to get decisions today. If you have a boatload of work for the day, you know pretty early on if you aren't going to make it. So they would have updated earlier w/ "sorry guys, keep an eye out on monday." I'm telling myself that the silence indicates that they are getting close.

I'm signing on to this baseless speculation.

Adding on to this... Chicago wants to improve its yield. A surefire way to not do that is to piss off the applicants you're going to accept by telling them they'll get decisions tomorrow and then not actually give them decisions. A great way to do that is to tell the applicants that you might get decisions tomorrow, but only if we work hard enough, and then give them decisions tomorrow, making them think that you were working really, really hard just for them.

TLDR: Either decisions are going out today or Chicago needs better PR

To be fair, Chicago said "Hoping to get them out tomorrow, no promises." I still agree it's annoying to tweet the possibility of decisions and end up not giving any.

Not necessary, certainly sufficient, and definitely increase your chances.

No, but I listened to Bob Marley's Everything's Gonna Be Allright immediately beforehand. It provided an ethereal flavor, which I believe was detected by my interviewer.

Wearing a strong cologne is both necessary and sufficient for admission.
