Re: Duke c/o 2016 Applicants Thread (2012-2013 Cycle)
Just to throw my (speculative) two cents in:
LSN suggests Duke spends until February dealing with auto-admits and PTs. After this, it seems they evaluate the others in the order they were received. Last year dings/WLs went out late February, with several acceptances a day throughout the month of February to borderline applicants.
If this is true, November and December borderline applicants should assume their apps are getting evaluated as we speak and that they should want to hear something sooner rather than later, for the later it gets the more likely it is you are WL'd/dinged (obviously)

Got an email from LinkedIn about who's been checking my profile recently, and apparently a dean at Duke Law was cyber stalking me recently. Guess they really do take the time to do background checks!

Submit 1.3
Complete 1.4
Never been UR
And decision letter sent today. Got a waitlist.
Should I send a statement of continued interest or just state it in the letter that I still love them....?

I have been under review since 10/10 and today my status updated to under review 2/6...
I hope this is an indicator of some sort of decision heading my way! I saw above that there were a couple acceptances for not PT applicants recently. How much time passed between status change and your decision e-mail?

For those who just got the update: if the UR signifies a forthcoming decision, you're getting in
LSN data from last year's cycle suggests WLs won't come for a few weeks

Duke has been slowly releasing non-PT decisions over the past few months, and quite a few of them have been WLs, so I'm not counting on it.WhatOurBodiesAreFor wrote:For those who just got the update: if the UR signifies a forthcoming decision, you're getting in

How long is it typically taking people to go under review? I've been complete since 1/4 and havent heard anything since....not sure if that means im under review or just waiting to go under review...

I'm still under review as well, mine went complete 1/2. From what I've seen our wait time isn't atypical. Non PTers seem to take forever

It seems like DLS has come almost immediately after the 2nd UR for non-PT applicants thus far, so I'm hoping my personal Duke saga ends sometime this week.

This is a really nit-picky question for you PTers: I went complete on 1/31, last Thursday, so ten days from then would be Sunday. Does that mean I should expect to hear by Friday or is it 10 business days and I will hear next week? Thanks!

You will hear on Sunday. It will most likely be so late on Sunday that you will have convinced yourself that I am incorrect and you will hear on Monday. I think you may be joking, but this process has entirely eradicated my sense of humor. Oh well, I'll hear when I hear.wert3813 wrote:You will hear on Sunday. oh my god, decision made, watch for email.
11/19 submit, 1/7 UR, 2/6 UR2. submitted a Why Duke two weeks ago.
nerve cracking. I'd be devastated if I'm waitlisted. Have personal/family reasons to really really want an offer from them.
