And I just got in, on the 10th day of my PT wait-period. I went complete on 1/14. Numbers are 3.71/172 (With a 166 first score). So happy!

It's truly disheartening because I feel like it lessens the strength that applying early typically lends to an applicant.Crowing wrote:Heh it seems like they are getting to some non-PT people but at a snail's pace. Some have been acceptances, some have been WLs. As for me, I am still UR 9/28. Idk why the hell they would be holding my application for 4 months now.wisteria wrote:Am I the only one a little bitter about the whole PT thing? I guess I'm just jealous. At least pay a little attention to us non-PTers, Duke!
I actually called the adcoms yesterday and discussed my application with them. I noted that I am currently registered for the February LSAT in hopes of increasing my LSAT score and thus my chance of admissions. At first, the individual who answered the phone suggested that I ask them to hold my application for my February date, then she looked up my file and took a very long pause...very long, at which time she then said, maybe I should defer to a colleague. I then spoke to a colleague who stated the holding option, he then pulled up my file when I noted I had been under review since October and he too deferred to a colleague. Eventually my answer was it was my decision to hold my application for my score but the overall impression was that most of the staff in the admissions office are not used to such a long lag time between under review and a decision which I attribute to the priority track.

For those who have already set up their Mordecai interviews--does Duke reimburse you or give you a stipend for travel there, or is that out-of-pocket?
Also, for all the January applicants--they are indeed still giving out Mordecai invitations right now.

Duke just tweeted this-sorry if someone else posted it earlier. Apparently duke is oneof 7 schools with more applications this year, not less

Does anyone know when the PT madness will end? I've been "Complete. Ready for Review" since 12/10.

Wonder what the other 6 are. I'm guessing Harvard, UVA, maybe Michigan?onionz wrote:Duke just tweeted this-sorry if someone else posted it earlier. Apparently duke is oneof 7 schools with more applications this year, not less

Re: Duke c/o 2016 Applicants Thread (2012-2013 Cycle)
I imagine it's semi random. And even an uptick in applications does solve the problem that nationally there are 30ish% less applicants with a 170+ and ~35% less applicants with a 175+. I imagine people are applying to a lot more reach schools now...comeonletsgo wrote:Wonder what the other 6 are. also no idea if Duke gave out more fee waivers or anything this year than compared to last- that's a huge part of it as well.

I think last year they didn't give PT invites to anyone with an LSAT score lower than 171, but this year we saw several, so it's completely possible.onionz wrote:I imagine it's semi random. Alabama is one. As of a week ago, they were only one application short of the number of apps they got in the entire 2011-12 cycle, per their assistant dean of admissions.comeonletsgo wrote:Wonder what the other 6 are. I'm also curious about this. Not that I'm anticipating an invite. Heh.carboncopyx wrote:For those who have already set up their Mordecai interviews--does Duke reimburse you or give you a stipend for travel there, or is that out-of-pocket?

I'm workin' the lurk out of my system and trying to contribute:
Submit mid-Oct, Complete mid-Oct, admitted 1/10. Non-KJD, non-URM, out of UG 2+ years, LSAT above 75th, GPA below median.

Re: Duke c/o 2016 Applicants Thread (2012-2013 Cycle)
I don't think this necessarily means we're destined for doom. I think it'd be reasonable to speculate that now they're just busy sorting out auto-rejects, auto-admits, and pt applicants. Last year, per LSN, the first wave of doom came mid/late February. People of all numbers were admitted up to that point. So, there's time yet.comeonletsgo wrote:Since 11/1 :/hhockberger wrote:+1, probably a ding for meDaRascal wrote:Anyone else not get an update since November? I wonder what this means...
