Definitely not going if I'm paying sticker. In fact, I wouldn't even go unless they at least matched Penn's offer.

But, I'm not worried about merit aid so much - I've received significant need aid from almost every school I've been admitted to. Is NYU known to not give any aid whatsoever off the waitlist?

I thought NYU was different from other shcools in this respect. Because they said "admitted students may begin apply..." on the website.

Also, someone seems to have mentioned sending the tax form directly to NYU?

Because everyone fills it out and lists all the schools they're applying to, even if they haven't gotten in yet. Did you really not do either of them, or just not list NYU?

I included the school codes of every school I applied to when I filled out my fafsa and needaccess. I understood the financial aid deadline to mean to all students, not just admitted students. It's deadline is earlier than many students even hear back so it seemed logical to submit it before being admitted.

I feel like you can still call and ask, though. This can't be the first time this has happened and the schools probably have some system set up.

Because everyone fills it out and lists all the schools they're applying to, even if they haven't gotten in yet. Did you really not do either of them, or just not list NYU?

I'm 99% sure it says on every law school's website somewhere, explicitly, that you should submit FAFSA and Need Access ASAP without regard to your admission status.

That said, these schools are making a huge profit all of us. I really doubt it makes any difference whatsoever. They want that loan money and will bend over backwards to get it. The recommended timeline thing is probably for admissions offices' convenience if anything.

What's the deal with their student housing, are the buildings/rooms nice? Is university housing guaranteed to law students? Do most people have a hard time getting their first few choices?

You need to send the FAFSA to be eligible for the loans though, so you should just go back and add the schools you're WL'd at and resubmit them. You may want do what Tekrul said and call the schools to ask about deadlines, but I'm not sure if that's necessary.

1) They are not particularly nice, no.

2) 1st year, yes, it's guaranteed. 2L and 3L year many still get it.

I'm still confirmed on waitlist. I figured most people waitlisted still are and those who went "UR" were in the minority.

I'd say ~70 people were admitted yesterday/today. There are still hundreds "confirmed in the WL"
