When I emailed them about how I'd like to negotiate, they told me to do it through their website where you get your finaid award. Should be an appeal tab somewhere there

Huh, I'm on it now and not seeing it anywhere. Did other people use the site, and if so does anyone remember where it is?sinfiery wrote:When I emailed them about how I'd like to negotiate, they told me to do it through their website where you get your finaid award. Thank you for contacting the Office of Student Financial Services at NYU School of Law regarding your financial aid award. In order to formally submit your request for reconsideration of your award package, please log back into the financial aid application system located at the following link: https://faaps.law.nyu.edu/studentmain.html Once you have logged in, click on the My Appeal selection located in the navigation bar at the top of the screen. Our office will review your submitted request and you will be notified of our decision via email.

The my appeal tab doesn't appear until they activate it, so if they never responded to your email or never got it for some reason, then they may not have activated the my appeal tab yet.

I'd imagine they don't want to encourage people who don't know that they can negotiate to do so... Without TLS I would have had no idea, so I imagine there are people out there who similarly don't know.beepboopbeep wrote:Wow, they should really tell people this stuff! So... is there another email address I should send my negotiation request to or should I just wait?

I think you have the right email address. Maybe try giving them a call.nerv wrote:So... is there another email address I should send my negotiation request to or should I just wait?

I am and I'm even trying to arrange a TLS meet up and I'm weird and socially awkward. I would make a horrible community organizer.Lavitz wrote:Please tell me you've been TLSing from NYU's ASWph5354a wrote:The my appeal tab doesn't appear until they activate it, so if they never responded to your email or never got it for some reason, then they may not have activated the my appeal tab yet.

I was TLSing from ASW; no shame. Will probably do the same tomorrow, but at NU instead of NYU

Lest we forget...
Keep up the good workLavitz wrote:TLSing from ASW lol.
Probably the best way to guarantee meeting other TLSers. Everyone at Cornell identified iMisto immediately after seeing that black and blue scarf.ph5354a wrote:I'm wearing a black and white striped sweater tomorrow. Find me please.

I love it just as much as I thought I would! Students are really friendly and the buildings and library are beautiful (so many outlets!). The Village seems a little overwhelming but I've never really spent much time here before so I'm sure that feeling would go away after a while. If I win the lottery between now and April 22, I would be here in August.toothbrush wrote:what do you think of nyu ?ph5354a wrote:Also, the rumors are true. I am in fact female.

Re: NYU C/O 2016 Applicants Thread!!! (Woooooo!!!!!)
I'd like to know about the first question a bit. I remember reading Mike Sperry (or whatever that guys name is the old Vandy Dean) say that it's better to send additional info BEFORE you get WL because it might make you an admit as opposed to a WL.chadbrochill wrote:Has anyone heard of anything anecdotal about if making a visit to the school, meeting the admissions office, and writing a LOCI afterward having any effect?
Would this be more effective pre-decision or after a WL?
Also does it even matter for YHSCCN? It seems like LOCI's aren't as encouraged with these schools since they know why we wanna go.
And I believe it's good to send LOCI's to CCN. Maybe not YHS, but CCN should know if there are reasons you actually want to go to their school beyond dat preftige. if you are only writing to say that their job placement makes you want to attend, then no, don't LOCI.
