Also, if anyone has submitted supplemental materials in their apps either to NYU or other schools, does their status checker reflect an update for the date it was received? I submitted a Why NYU and received email confirmation that it was added to my file but my status checker date thing didn't update. Not concerned as I'm sure it was received, just curious.

My letter came yesterday, btw. Not the package, but just the letter with the handwritten post-it note. I'm in the tri-state area but not NYC, if that helps any.az21833 wrote:hoping that letter comes soon...

So I haven't heard back from a ton of places, including NYU, and I applied in November early. In order to prevent a waitlist, do you think I should inform the schools about currently being a finalist for two national scholarships? I didn't want to update my file unless I actually received the scholarships, but I'm hoping the finalist thing might keep me in a hold pile instead of a waitlist or a rejection. Thoughts?

I'd say go for it. Maybe submit an updated resume via email with the two finalist positions and in the email, include a couple sentences about the scholarships just to draw their attention to the new addition on your resume. It's been said pretty universally that in terms of application updates, new honors or awards are the number one thing to update (beyond scores and gpa obvs). I think being a finalist is enough of an honor that you can include it now, and if necessary, update it again when you win both of the scholarships. Good luck!ssanonymous wrote:So I haven't heard back from a ton of places, including NYU, and I applied in November early. I think I might just send a basic email with the information. Thanks for the input!ph5354a wrote:I'd say go for it. I've registered for the Feb LSAT to try to raise my score in case I get waitlisted. Should/do I have to inform adcomm about this? Thanks in advance!

Been under review since 10/16. 169/4.14. Should I send a Why NYU? now to try and prevent a waitlist or ding or is it a waste?

ITT: people misunderstand what a LOCI is meant for.
To be fair though people are doing that in just about every thread right now.
Btw first went UR in November, UR2 in early December. DJ and I win.

It was part LOCI, part updating them on some good things that happened.BigZuck wrote:ITT: people misunderstand what a LOCI is meant for.
