i submitted 01/08/2013 01:42 PM and haven't even gotten an "application received" email. i cant believe some of yall went to read within 3 days. do you have really good numbers? i'm below both medians so maybe I've just been sorted to the bottom of the pile.

I wouldn't read too much into it... I doubt they start filtering out people for even the "Application Received" e-mail. My numbers are pretty good (>75th percentile), but a previous poster had below/around median numbers and a fast turnaround. It is more likely a function of application submission timing rather than numbers filtering from the get-go.

Don't read too much into it. I went 'UR2' within like a week of submitting but I don't think it means much of anything.

My status checker has the last update as 12/21/12 and ominously says "Application removed from consideration." Has anyone else gotten that? I am assuming it is a denial, but haven't heard anything official.

That's really bizarre. I hadn't heard of that either. Most people got rejections via email, right?

I have searched all over past NYU forums for this status and the only place I can find someone talking about it is in the NYU C/O 2015 Waitlist forum in May of 2012. My initial reaction was to think I was denied, but since this is the only place I found a mention of this status I am thinking that maybe I got onto the waitlist. Decided to post here to see if anyone else is in the same boat as I am.

Have not heard of this. Why not just call them or email them to get clarification? At this point, you have nothing to lose.

I never got around to this because I was seizing with excitement and then went on a million vacations without computer access.

In at NYU 12/21, submitted 11/28, wasn't complete until 12/17 EARLIEST because i had C+F issue and the letter didn't get sent from the dean until 12/14. SUPER fast turn-around!

3.88/172, strong softs, really good letters, PS about government interests

just emailed to ask if i could submit an essay for a named scholarship by email. no response so far. has anybody been successful in submitting one of these past 1/1? ugh i want the jacobson so bad now

I submitted mine with my application on 1/4. I didn't realize at first that 1/1 was the deadline so I called the next week just to see if it would still be considered, and they said that they would try to "squeeze it in" to be considered but they couldn't make any guarantees. I'm guessing if they didn't get very many applicants for that scholarship, there's no reason why they wouldn't consider latecomers, but if they already have the right number, then they probably won't. Also, I believe your essay doesn't get considered until after they've made a decision on you, so the January applicants will probably be at the bottom of the scholarship pile either way.

Wait a second. Was someone under an ED contract? They have ways of finding that out.
