This is entirely speculative, but I suspect that we probably just went to a different (slower) second reader than the other UR1 2/7 group, and that we will be a mix of accept, WL, and ding.fallingup wrote:Another one in the UR1 2/7, UR2 3/14 boat. I predict WL.

I agree, I think its too large of a wave to not be a mixed bag. Assuming most of the remaining 2/7 people went UR2 today.Audeamus wrote:This is entirely speculative, but I suspect that we probably just went to a different (slower) second reader than the other UR1 2/7 group, and that we will be a mix of accept, WL, and ding.fallingup wrote:Another one in the UR1 2/7, UR2 3/14 boat. Anyone else still UR2 2/13? Did anyone in that bunch get decisions yet? (Sorry, at work and really don't want to sift through this thread)

Re: Penn C/O 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 Cycle)
Probably not, because fewer people apply as it gets later in the cycle so it won't take as long to review you. And not only is your pool smaller, it has fewer acceptances to compete for, so that quickens things as well.Snowboarder1588 wrote:So based on this latest development us, UR1 3/6 people wont go into UR2 until April....WOW.

My cell phone literally just rang with an area code I didn't recognize. Heart in my throat, I answered. There was a pause.
It was the place where I last had my car serviced, telling me I was due for another one. Almost threw the phone at the wall.

Toll finalists congrats! I hope to join you soon (no email as of yet). Out of curiousity when did you submit your application for the program? And did you ever receive confirmation upon submission?risa wrote:Toll finalist! (by email)

When you say second reader, I thought UR2 would mean we're at our second reader now?

I hope this does not come off as dense, but how can you tell the difference between your UCR1 and UCR 2? I applied 1/29 and noticed my first UCR 3/3. Thanks!

Re: Penn C/O 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 Cycle)
You just need to pay attention to your under review date. When it changes again you will be "ucr2" and thats the last stage before you get a decision.TorturedApplicant wrote:I hope this does not come off as dense, but how can you tell the difference between your UCR1 and UCR 2? You have to be neurotic and check frequently to know. Maybe you had a UCR between 1/29 and 3/3, maybe not... I don't think there is a way to tell if you haven't been crazy with the refresh.TorturedApplicant wrote:I hope this does not come off as dense, but how can you tell the difference between your UCR1 and UCR 2? Would checking it a couple times a day make you neurotic? LOL...bluecouch wrote:You have to be neurotic and check frequently to know. Maybe you had a UCR between 1/29 and 3/3, maybe not... Ugh this is agonizing! Northwestern switched from "under review" to "on hold" from 3/8 to 3/13. Maybe it was easy for them to make that call and Penn is having a more difficult time? I was expecting to hear from them any day, but now I gather it will take a bit longer. I think 3/6 is my UCR1. SIGH.

Re: Penn C/O 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 Cycle)
It does. We probably have just been sitting on a desk waiting for our second reader to get to us. Also, I'm extremely skeptical of predictions that we are destined for the WL. Given how strongly Penn admissions emphasizes that applications are reviewed by at least 2 people, I highly doubt they render decisions prior to the second reading. I think it is far more likely that our second reader is moving at a slower pace and that we will represent a mixed bag of decisions.LRGhost wrote:Agreed.
