I'm really confused why I haven't heard anything. I applied in September, wrote a why penn and am above their 75% for lsats and above median for gpa. I really love upenn and Im confused why I've not gotten a decision since I applied so early

You will get in or you will get YP'ed. Don't stress out too much. If your Why Penn was convincing enough they should let you in!lawschoolboundfuture wrote:I'm really confused why I haven't heard anything. Same stats as you but I'm not even complete at Penn yet. Wrote the extra essays as well. Here's hoping there is room for both of us! Good luck! =Ddiver88 wrote:checking in -

Just went complete. Need to finish up a Why Penn to send to them! I guess I have another ~6 weeks of waiting, though :/

Waitlisted.
3.5x, LSAT > 175, applied early September. Wrote one optional essay, although not the "why Penn." Only UCR date was 11/20.

Yikes. Very sorry to see this, although I am SURE you will get into another great T14 with that killer LSAT. As for me...I officially give up on Penn now having seen this.carbonara wrote:Waitlisted.

I don't know why you'd be waitlisted. Best of luck, hermano.carbonara wrote:Waitlisted.

I was just looking at the Penn status checker. They said applications can take up to 12 weeks once complete. I was complete September 19th, so by my calculations I've been complete 17-18 weeks. Sort of weird. Wonder what's going on over there.

Re: Penn C/O 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 Cycle)
Just how it goes sometimes I guess. I've been fortunate so far this cycle with other admissions, so I really can't complain. Penn is very appealing though; I know several Penn Law grads who speak very highly of the place, and it fits with my goal to stay in the northeast, while being slightly more affordable than NYC.LRGhost wrote:I don't know why you'd be waitlisted. Good luck to everyone else, on the waitlist or otherwise!

No. Held is not waitlist. Held means no decision has been made yet. You could even be held and then eventually waitlisted.Dylanlj13 wrote:Held for further review with 169/4.0

Sorry to hear. Would you mind sharing your UR dates? Thanks!slack_academic wrote:Waitlisted today via e-mail. Traditional splitter.
ETA: wrote a "why Penn" but also took a riskier approach with my application there than I did at many schools. Oh well.

Re: Penn C/O 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 Cycle)
Penn sent me an email asking for my fall grades. Good sign? UCR2 01/09.
On behalf of the Admissions Committee, I want to thank you for your application to the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Your accomplishments to date are impressive and your evident commitment to our institution is not easily matched.
The Admissions Committee has completed its preliminary review of your application and has requested a copy of your Fall 2012 grades.
We request that you email (contactadmissions@law.upenn.edu) which is the preferred method or fax (215.898.9606) a copy of your transcript reflecting your Fall grades directly to the Office of Admissions once it is available. We must subsequently receive the official transcript from LSAC. Therefore, please also submit an updated transcript with your most recent grades to LSAC. Upon receipt of your transcript, LSAC will automatically send us an updated report.
The admissions process at Penn Law is a deliberative process in the truest sense of the word. Every file is read by numerous members of the Admissions Committee. As of this date, your file has been reviewed by at least two members of the Committee, and we are very impressed with your credentials.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any question or remark. I sincerely hope to hear from you soon.
Warm Regards,
Renee C. Post
Associate Dean
