Stanford Waitlist 2012
Hey everyone,
I didn't see a topic for this yet. I wanted to create a place for commiseration/celebration/sharing, and I also wanted to be special and make a new topic.
So how many of us are going to wait it out? Is anyone sending in a new LOR or retaking the LSAT?
Word.

Re: Stanford 2012 Waitlist
I plan to wait it out. Maybe to the end. I don't know about another LOR, I already sent 4. I'll probably send a LoCI when I graduate to talk about the various honors/grades. Maybe work on curing cancer in the week between finals and graduation. I don't think I'll retake the LSAT.

Re: Stanford 2012 Waitlist
Checking in. Going to ride out the WL until the bitter end.
I don't know about submitting new LoR. I've been out of school for a couple of years, so I'm not sure if I even have a professor who could write a meaningful one. I already sent a LOCI (since I was a soft hold), so I don't know if I'll send another one. Maybe I'll just email in a short update to reiterate my interest/ let Dean Deal know what I've been up to.
Fingers crossed that there is significant wait list movement this year!

Re: Stanford 2012 Waitlist
I'm going to send in a LOCI since I have a lot that's happened to me recently. I'm also thinking another LOR. I only sent in three originally, and there are two professors who would have good, and new, things to say about me in a letter.
Other than that, I'm just going to ride till the end and hope my patience pays off.

Agreed! I hope that we start to see movement in the next few weeks after the deposit deadline.amc987 wrote:Fingers crossed that there is significant wait list movement this year!

I'm stoked to even be on the waitlist! Sent a LOCI and planning to send final transcripts et al. after graduation.

Gonna send in the WL form. Might as well ride it out, can't hurt. I guess I should probably start working on my LOCI...

Just called in and found out the DLS was a WL, any ideas about the overall percent of WL -> admit from last year?

Have you not sent in any LOCIs so far before this?ScratchableItch wrote:I'm going to send in a LOCI since I have a lot that's happened to me recently.

Checking in. Honored to be on the WL! I am still trying to decide whether to ride it out.. so confusing! I should probably send a LOCI though honestly, I don't have much of anything new to add...

Re: Stanford 2012 Waitlist
I sent one to Harvard, not to Stanford. Since I applied in October I have essentially two semesters worth of updates.jim-green wrote:Have you not sent in any LOCIs so far before this?ScratchableItch wrote:I'm going to send in a LOCI since I have a lot that's happened to me recently.

Re: Stanford Waitlist 2012
I am trying to locate the post that said that all the people who got accepted had a common strong theme connecting their apps. Is that post in the original Stanford thread? I could not find the post, but was wondering why the person said that. Because the Yale dean's blog said you should not be a one trick pony, but have many aspects. For SLS, should all parts of the app point to one interest?

Re: Stanford Waitlist 2012
I think you're referring to one of Dean Deal's blog posts, perhaps this one (http://blogs.law.stanford.edu/admission ... questions/), but I'm not entirely sure. I don't think she meant that you should hone in on one particular interest or goal and make that the focus of your application, but rather that your application should give a full sense of who you are, what you've done, and why you want to go to law school.jim-green wrote:I am trying to locate the post that said that all the people who got accepted had a common strong theme connecting their apps. Re: Stanford Waitlist 2012
Thanks. A poster on TLS said 3-4 days ago in one of the SLS threads that all the friends she knew who got into SLS this cycle have a common theme running through their apps. That was the post I was asking about and what that TLS poster said that, but this post of Dean Deal's above really helps!yankees42789 wrote:I think you're referring to one of Dean Deal's blog posts, perhaps this one (http://blogs.law.stanford.edu/admission ... questions/), but I'm not entirely sure. Dumb question... Can you e-mail a LOCI or does it need to be snail mailed?
Riding this one out till the bitter end.
Honestly shocked I wasn't outright rejected.

Hey everyone. Wanted to say hello and good luck. I got the WL two or three weeks ago. Waiting this out because I would probably go up until the first day of classes starting. A homeless SLS student doesn't sound too bad at all really.

I sent one by email a while before being wait listed, and they emailed a response saying that they added it to my file.hellothisisme wrote:Dumb question... Can you e-mail a LOCI or does it need to be snail mailed?
