Just got my acceptance in the mail with a 5k a year scholarship. I still really want to go to Case but its still exciting none the less. Anyone else applying?

Accepted the other day with a 15k a year scholarship. Good money but visited and absolutely hated the school. Def at the bottom of my list, but a good fallback if I have to stay in the city. Still waiting on Case.

Applied as well. Received over 16k/year. As others have said great money but tough stips and questionable employment. Given scholarships and admissions to several T1s I have to look there first.

Same. I wasn't pleased with the stips at all. Cinci def places above them on my list.cdelgado wrote:Applied as well. Received over 16k/year. As others have said great money but tough stips and questionable employment. Given scholarships and admissions to several T1s I have to look there first.

I'm from Cleveland as well and applied just in case we're unable to move for some reason (praying we can finally get out of here tho)
When did you guys apply? Haven't heard anything yet.

I completely agree (plus Cinci's 2.0 stip). Bottom of my list too and just another option.puremorning wrote:Same. I wasn't pleased with the stips at all. Back in October. The only thing I'd heard from them was awhile ago when my app went complete.Magnifique1908 wrote:I'm from Cleveland as well and applied just in case we're unable to move for some reason (praying we can finally get out of here tho)

Oh ok, thanks. I just applied at the end of the year and heard back shortly after the new year about being complete.

Yeah, I went complete 11/16, so you could be waiting awhile.Magnifique1908 wrote:puremorning wrote:Back in October. Received my acceptance and scholarship on Friday. I'm excited about this one, as I'm a native Clevelander, the cost will be very low, and the school's reputation in Cleveland is fairly solid. But just like the rest of you, I'll have to weigh it against some higher ranked schools.

Case, for the record, has no grade stips, so the money you get is the money you get.cdelgado wrote:Applied as well. Received over 16k/year. As others have said great money but tough stips and questionable employment. Given scholarships and admissions to several T1s I have to look there first.
edit: I say this because I assume most people that apply to CM also apply to Case. If you are planning on staying in Cleveland though, CM has a great reputation, and you'll have no problem's getting a job here.

Well, waitlisted at Cinci. If I can get some more money from C-M, I may end up there. I'm still waiting on Case though.

Yeah, that's pretty much how it goes. I didn't hear anything for a long time, and then one day a nice fat envelope with acceptance and scholarship just showed up. They've been keeping in pretty close contact since then though.Lawer101 wrote:Haven't heard a thing. Complete since 1/5.

How long does it take to usually hear something? I applied the first week of January. I'm excited to hear back from them and case. Just got waitlisted by Cincy so I'm hoping for something over here!

I applied at the end of Oct and heard back 1/23. I don't think they started reviewing apps until after Thanksgiving or the new year though.tonymontana45 wrote:How long does it take to usually hear something? I applied the first week of January. In w// 16k. Apparently that is their highest award and they don't negotiate smh. Those stips are ridiculous.

Re: Cleveland-Marshall 2015
Did yours say that they're giving you 16k this year and then will reevaluate next year? That's what mine said and I'm not going to a school that doesn't at least lay out what to expect the next three years! And I got in to Case yesterday, so CM will continue to stay at the very bottom of my list, hahaMagnifique1908 wrote:In w// 16k. Apparently that is their highest award and they don't negotiate smh. Re: Cleveland-Marshall 2015
Yeah. Something about your award is for first year tuition and fees and will be re-evaluated based on obtaining a 3.2. I figured it was just part of the stips. Either way.....I'm hoping I don't have to stay here because it will be my only option. Didn't apply to Case.puremorning wrote:Did yours say that they're giving you 16k this year and then will reevaluate next year? What is the stips? Is it worse then akron?Magnifique1908 wrote:In w// 16k. Apparently that is their highest award and they don't negotiate smh. Those stips are ridiculous.

Re: Cleveland-Marshall 2015
I'm not familiar with Akron's stipulations because I did not apply. In order to maintain the scholarship, you must maintain a 3.2 GPA. I believe CSU's curve is on the low side too and with the amount of scholarships they seem to give out, its pretty apparent that most will lose them.tonymontana45 wrote:What is the stips?
