Right? I mean it's not a huge deal but I would be interested to know what makes them give one person more money over another person (numbers aside). However, I'd rather it remain a mystery than have them send out our admission indexes, scholarships, lsats, gpas, etc Baylor style

Elendil, how much did they give you?
I got 25k over three years (as I already ranted in another thread).

I got 25K too! I think it'll go sooooo far to pay for everything
Hahahha 5K for 3L woohoo!!!
Did you also get a "loan" as part of your award? That might be just for internationals, but I found it hilarious.

Yeah I did

more than one I think :/

Hahaha so generous of them to ALLOW us to take out loans to cover the gaping hole left by the 70K per year we still need to pay for their law school

I'm at a 174 LSAT and above-median GPA and got $0...so perhaps the awards took WE into consideration more than numbers? I'm a 22-year-old K-JD so that might explain my situation!

Bronck is k-jd also (right?) and they got 62.5k. However I will still use this to soothe my pride

eh, well, I can tell myself it's because I'm a K-JD and soothe my own pride! Honestly I'm not sure why; I got nothing from NYU either (well, except "invitations" to take out loans from both!)

Did you by any chance send them info about grants from other schools?

I did. 50k offer from NYU and 90k offer from MVP tier. I sent the appeal immediately after I received my NYU offer.

It might have been in appreciation of the unabashed affection you show them on TLS.

Yes. Accepted 3/20, submitted my finaid application a few days later. Did you get in before the 3/1 deadline?

I was admitted 3/6 and sent my finaid application about a week later.

Just accepted last week. Think Columbia would consider matching UChi offer without me submitting my finaid stuff...?

Probably not. it just doesn't seem to be the way law schools (Columbia in particular) like to handle business. If you're on a deadline let them know and they will email you everything you need, and you can email it back. They won't commit to having anything ready or done by a certain date, but they do seem to respond to other deadlines-- my decision had a quick turnaround after I let them know about NYU--still didn't get anything

I'm still waiting. I turned in my application right after I was admitted, around 3/15. I want to accept your offer Columbia, hit me up.

I sent my stuff in on 3/15 and received my letter postmarked April 3. You guys should call them to see what's up. They were pretty helpful and quite nice.

Just so you guys know that you are making a solid choice in Columbia, here is the Columbia Law Revue ATL submission for 2012. If this video makes it to the voting round, make sure to show some school pride.

How likely is Columbia to match another school's scholarship offer? If the other school is NYU? Should I even bother?
