It is curious though that they have waitlisted and rejected many, but there are still some (rather strong) applicants who have yet to hear anything. It would be easy for them to just waitlist all of us because they have a large waitlist and it's very active. I'm curious as to why they're holding our applications longer than those applicants already waitlisted and dinged.

I feel like this is getting less true as time goes on. I know a number of people who at this point are like, yes you're harvard, but I've made other plans. Esp in May!

Going to reconsider. Although I spent the past month convincing myself that SLS is a better fit for me than HLS, I want to give HLS a fair shake. I still think I will end up at SLS, but have tried to focus on the negatives of HLS (because I didn't want to set myself up for disappointment). Does anyone know what differentiates the 80% of interviewees that are accepted to HLS from the 20% that are not?

The fact that you got an interview request this late may indicate that you are already in the 80%.

Do you think the fact that you sent withdrawal letter will impact the dean's evaluation of your interview or is the plan simply to tell Harvard you didn't expect to get it so you withdrew?
