I feel like this is getting less true as time goes on. I know a number of people who at this point are like, yes you're harvard, but I've made other plans. Esp in May!Doorkeeper wrote:They're Harvard and they know it. I can understand them doing WLs and rejections after May 1, since you should have made a deposit somewhere else anyway, but getting a KB1 the day after making a $500 deposit somewhere would be annoying. Better than no KB1, but still annoying.Doorkeeper wrote:On another note, if the deposit deadline is already being extended for those admitted within the past week or so, then this might point to Harvard not caring as much about getting decisions out by May 1st, especially if there are any more KB1s to be had before they WL the rest.
Just speculating...
Also, we don't know if there are more KB1s to be had. It could be all WL or ding from this point on, we don't know. It is curious though that they have waitlisted and rejected many, but there are still some (rather strong) applicants who have yet to hear anything. It would be easy for them to just waitlist all of us because they have a large waitlist and it's very active. I'm curious as to why they're holding our applications longer than those applicants already waitlisted and dinged.

WTF is going on with them? Would they really hold apps into May and then ding people? Seems so unnecessary.

So it looks like the waitlists are rolling as they process the applications.
I guess that is one less thing to worry about...

Nothing yet.
Should I hope to survive this WL roll for another day? Orrrrr will a super late rejection roll follow?
This is ruining my productivity.

Geneva, are you going to reconsider your withdrawal? Or are you sticking with Stanford?

Going to reconsider. Although I spent the past month convincing myself that SLS is a better fit for me than HLS, I want to give HLS a fair shake. I still think I will end up at SLS, but have tried to focus on the negatives of HLS (because I didn't want to set myself up for disappointment). Does anyone know what differentiates the 80% of interviewees that are accepted to HLS from the 20% that are not?cerealdan wrote:Geneva, are you going to reconsider your withdrawal? The 80% apparently ask to withdraw first...Geneva wrote:Going to reconsider. The fact that you got an interview request this late may indicate that you are already in the 80%.Geneva wrote:Going to reconsider. Do you think the fact that you sent withdrawal letter will impact the dean's evaluation of your interview or is the plan simply to tell Harvard you didn't expect to get it so you withdrew?Geneva wrote:Going to reconsider.
