This made my day.

I thought the turned down scholarship money would be going to the alternates. Even though I'm benefiting, it seems wrong to keep alts waiting by shuffling around money.
Yeah, but I was never an alternate. They already offered me money weeks ago. Then today they just added some more...for.no.reason.thelawschoolproject wrote:cylon_clone wrote:uh...they just upped my scholarship w/o negociation.

I was an alternate who received a bunch of Need Based Aid....then this afternoon I got a ton of regular scholarship money.

Apparently so. I wouldn't think it'd be a problem at Gtown, but if they're trying this hard, that's the only reasonable excuse. Wonder where all the urms are going if not Gtown...Mr. Somebody wrote:they neeed urms badly?cylon_clone wrote:Yeah, but I was never an alternate. They already offered me money weeks ago. Hm..didn't even think about it being a URM thing...that makes sense, kinda. I was looking at Michigan/Berkeley.cylon_clone wrote:

I know that for Financial Aid you need to fill out the yellow form on ASW. As for merit aid, a bunch of people got emails, but then a lot of people did not (myself included). I then emailed the Hotline address and inquired about it - they ended up placing me on an "alternate list".Killingly wrote:Just realized that I never got any communication about financial aid. No loans or anything. Doesn't matter, but it's still strange.
I know of 3 people (including me) who are not URMs that the same thing happened to - got an increased award without asking for it. Very weird, but a really nice surprise.cylon_clone wrote:

Has anyone out there been designated an alternate and since received a merit aid package?
