Re: In at GULC!
In! But unable to attend the early ASW. Hopefully will be able to make the later one.
This was my first acceptance so very exciting.
I got in with my October LSAT but did much better in December. Anyone know if I can send them the second score in hopes of more $$$$?

I would absolutely make them aware of it. Have you actually received your admissions packet or are you in via ASW? If you havent received anything hard copy yet, it would make it must less awkward to send your second score in to them.viacavour wrote:In! But unable to attend the early ASW. That would be awesome! On a more serious note, is there stuff to do around the law campus that would keep me occupied for like five hours or so? I'm supposed to fly in on Thursday around 7AM and it doesn't look like the actual ASW will start until like 2PM.D. H2Oman wrote:Proposition accepted.hipstermafia wrote:To answer some of the questions about the admitted students weekends: If possible, COME! So we need to fill out the FAFSA before we find out anything about merit aid? If you are somewhat well off... will that hurt the amount you receive?

I decided too! I'm going to the ASW on the 26th Does anyone know of any hotels nearby they can recommend? Or is anybody going with the option of staying with current students?
I'm SO excited!

I'm going to call the office tomorrow to see updates on the current student option. I put it as my preferred option on the survey but I haven't heard back yet, which is a bit problematic because I need to book a hotel soon if that doesn't come through.gatorlaw wrote:I decided too! Re: In at GULC!
Could you do me a huge favor and post on here what they let you know? I'm really curious about that option. It would be a great way to meet people, but I can see how much more convenient a hotel room would be.jeninamillion wrote:I'm going to call the office tomorrow to see updates on the current student option. Re: In at GULC!
There's not much to see in the immediate blocks around gulc unless you enjoy office buildings, but the national mall is maybe 5 blocks away so if the weather is pleasant you can go up and see the capitol or if the weather is unpleasant you can check out one of our fantastic free museums. The student you're staying with may be free earlier than the official start to ASW to hang out with you as well, and there will be students on campus all day .. don't hesitate to ask them stuff!jeninamillion wrote:That would be awesome! Sounds like we should some day drinking, you know to prepare you for life as a law student. You can walk to the national mall in like 7 minutes. You'll definitely be able to find plenty of stuff to do.
I know we should do that more oftenhipstermafia wrote:it was nice to see you in passing today!D. H2Oman wrote:Proposition accepted.

This may be a stupid question but I'm a native Californian and am a bit concerned about the weather. What should I wear/bring? Will I be ok with just a coat?

It's been a pretty mild winter, expect mid 40's during the day and low 30's at night. I usually wear just a fairly light coat. That should probably be fine.jeninamillion wrote:This may be a stupid question but I'm a native Californian and am a bit concerned about the weather. What should I wear/bring? Hi guys! Does anyone know how easy it is to get from the various airports to campus? Is either airport preferable?

Re: In at GULC!
dca is the easiest because it is on the metro or a $12 cab ride, sometimes their flights are more expensive though. BWI is probably second easiest, you can take a marc train from the bwi train station into union station (right near the law center) for $7 and the trains run about every hour. Dulles is least easy to get in/our from (to tell you the truth i've never done this), i think you take a bus to the metro but it takes a while. I *think* i heard something last year about admissions shuttles from the various airports but i'm not sure if i'm remembering this correctly or if they are available this year. Probably wouldn't hurt to ask admissions!franklyscarlet wrote:Hi guys! Does anyone know how easy it is to get from the various airports to campus? Is either airport preferable?

Thanks!! I found a flight into DCA thursday morning, but I wanted to be sure. Everything out of where I live is expensive so it doesn't make much of a differencehipstermafia wrote:dca is the easiest because it is on the metro or a $12 cab ride, sometimes their flights are more expensive though. I'm thinking about it because I'm interested in international human rights. I'm also looking into the global law scholars but doesn't come with a scholarship, though.franklyscarlet wrote:Another question because I'm bored at work; is anyone appplying for the PILS program?
