Dear XXXXXXXX,
This email is to inform you that you incorrectly recieved an email yesterday. Please check your online status for your correct decision status. Again, the email you recieved from us yesterday, denying you admission, was falsly sent to you.

Thank you for your understanding with this mistake, and we apologize for any inconviences this may have caused.

Sincerely,

Chapman Law Admissions

So, now I'm really wondering if I'm the only one that received this. It seems pretty strange. Also, all four spelling errors are not mine, they are as written in the email.

well of course i can't be 100% sure. but read that goddamn email that's supposedly from chapman.
Again, the email you recieved from us yesterday, denying you admission, was falsly sent to you.
that doesn't sound a bit fake to you?
recieved, falsly, inconviences
? c'mon, chapman may be widely regarded as a TTT, but i'm sure their admissions office can afford to spell check their emails still.

It does seem a bit absurd, but at the same time it's not like I haven't noticed typos on solicitation emails from TTTs before. I guess I'll give leagle benefit of the doubt for now. If (s)he is trolling, I'd stand by your 120 for content, 180 for execution.

Either I'm telling the truth, or I have way too much free time. Then again I suppose that is the exact accusation being made here.

I'd have a hard time believing it too, except it happened to me. Well at least I don't need to freak out about what in my application upset them so much.

I applied to Chapman with a 170+ because I have a terrible GPA, doesn't seem to be the case with OP but people are entitled to fall back options. If you saw Chapman's initial email providing the status checker you wouldn't be shocked at the lack of formality in their communications. I think the guy is telling the truth.

Looks like I was admitted after all. I'll be honest though, the entire affair has left me wondering about the way things are run at Chapman.

Yeah, I call 'troll.' This guy totally just spent many hours painstakingly fabricating those screen shots as some kind of joke.

I don't believe for a second that someone would apply to a local school when his/her numbers are above the school's 75th percentiles. And schools never make mistakes in emails - they only send dozens every day this time of year. And the idea that a staff member would accidentally leave grammatical errors in a quickly-written email to correct the mistake just defies belief.

FWIW, I've definitely seen multiple spelling errors on emails from TTTs in the past (that likely weren't rushed because they were just solicitation emails). It's really not that outrageous. I mean OP might still be just a troll but spelling errors do happen.

he's being sarcastic...

well, the screenshots seem legit. i guess we can conclude that cRRRapman is a "festering TTT in decline".

Honestly, I find it kind of hard to believe that someone would go through that much time and effort for a bogus post. So I think the OP is telling the truth. Furthermore, being that Chapman is the only law school in Orange county and assuming the OP is hell-bent on staying in Orange county, it's not so crazy impossible for this to be true. And if the previous rejection was a mistake, then this thread is moot anyways.

My two cents - I think with the GPA/LSAT combo that you have, you should be applying to way better schools. If it's the part-time program you're worried about, I would rather make the trip to LA to go to Loyola-LA. Depending on where you are in Orange, CA, it's close enough to Los Angeles. Just my opinion, though. Good luck with the rest of your cycle.

Thanks, also I did apply to Loyola as well. I also applied to UCI, USC, UCLA and a few others, but I'm a little apprehensive about not working for 3 years. I've worked full time continuously since I was 16.
