Re: In at NYU: Class of 2015...With Even Newer Poll!
Are people still getting emails? The lady must have known what she was talking about when I called yesterday and she said I would hear within 2 weeks.
Is there anyone else who has just not heard anything? The last time they sent out offers did it happen over multiple days? I don't remember...
Congrats to everyone who heard so far!
Still great offers coming out, even late!

I sent in my app a couple weeks ago, and it looks like I also ticked over to "final review" on April 6... but considering how long some of you have had to wait, I'm starting to wonder if I'll find out before deposit deadlines.

The tax returns we're supposed to send in order to confirm our awards...this is just the first several pages, right? We don't have to send in schedules and such?

On a related note, where exactly do we send these? Do we just email them a scan of the pages? or fill it out on Need Access?nochurchinthewild wrote:The tax returns we're supposed to send in order to confirm our awards...this is just the first several pages, right? Sorry if I missed it in the last few pages but has anyone appealed their $$ award or lack thereof? How did you go about doing so?

Email them and they'll open up an appeal on your award on their website. It didn't seem like people had much success. I had no luck but only had lower T14 leverage. You may fare better with CC offers.StrictlyBusiness wrote:Sorry if I missed it in the last few pages but has anyone appealed their $$ award or lack thereof? How did you go about doing so?

Perfect, thanks. And I don't expect to go from zero-$75k either but might as well throw up a Hail Mary before I withdraw.Nelson wrote:Email them and they'll open up an appeal on your award on their website. Yeah I got 0.
Some loans. But not nearly enough to cover.. anything.
I'm really confused now. Where are we supposed to get the rest of the money not covered by the loans?? Is it a relatively easy process?
I'm kind of freaking out about having to pay sticker.

Are you international? If not, you should be able to borrow as much as you need.jellybean8 wrote:Yeah I got 0.

Either with the gov't PLUS loan or (some) private loan, you are able to borrow up to the difference/gap in funding.

0 aid, want to do public interest, but not going to be eligible for NYU's LRAP...I really wanted NYU but it's seeming less and less likely
. I'm seriously considering taking another year to work, just so I can get another crack at applying for RTK.

Why wouldn't you be eligible for LRAP?80eight wrote:0 aid, want to do public interest, but not going to be eligible for NYU's LRAP...I really wanted NYU but it's seeming less and less likely![]()

Int'l students, who can't take out gov't loans and end up taking out private loans, are eligible for NYU's LRAP. You should call the finaid office to get more info on this.

The TOTAL AWARDS is referring to the Staffordblueskies wrote:Can someone please help me understand this precisely?
The letter said I did not get an institutional scholarship -- does that mean I get no money at all or are they just making painfully clear that I didn't get a named scholarship? (I was an RTK finalist who didn't win big.)
Are they counting the Stafford Loans in my Total Awards? As in, I'd actually be taking on the 20,500 in federal Stafford Loans AND the 54,204 in other loans? (i.e. sticker price)2011-2012 Cost of attendance: $74,704
Estimated Federal Stafford Loans: $20,500
TOTAL AWARDS: $20,500
Difference/Gap: $54,204
Assumed Annual Student Contribution: $3,333
Or does this mean they're giving me $20,500 in scholarship and I'm going to have to take out the Difference/Gap in loans?
I am confused because "TOTAL AWARDS" seems like it should not include loans that I have to take out. Seems like it ought to be actual awards from the school.

This is slightly (but not much) less annoying than Columbia telling me that $11,000 of cosigned private loans a year are part of my award... As opposed to the OTHER $60,000 in cosigned private loans I have to take out up to the cost of attendanceblueskies wrote:damn, sticker.vincanity1 wrote:The TOTAL AWARDS is referring to the Staffordblueskies wrote:blahblahblah
