I can't imagine that anyone who's in the running for a full-ride scholarship won't get something. I have nothing to back this up, but it just seems logical that if they're taking the time to interview for a named scholly they think you're worth merit aid generally.

More hearting. I think it's just in my nature to plan for both the best and worst case scenarios and always assume the latter to be the more likely.

I may be misremembering, but I believe last year pretty much every interviewer got at least $30k. But they aren't handing out money in the same way this year as they did last year, so it's anyone's guess.

Speaking to a few current AnBrycer's last week, they all mentioned 75-90k being typical offers for finalists who weren't admitted into the program.

I interviewed for the Root and was just (unofficially) offered $62.5/75k, so if you interviewed for a named scholarship and aren't selected, I'm sure you can look forward to that .

I should point out that they were more stingy with $$ last year. Also, I remembered that being a floor. I think most received more than that, but I'm not really sure how accurate of a statement that is.

I thought I heard someone mention in one of the threads that the next round of financial aid decisions should be coming out on the 9th. Did I just make that up, or should we be expecting them tomorrow (or later today, I guess)?

At the financial aid panel at ASD they said "the week of" the 9th. So, at least for me, I'll be crossing fingers for today but not yet holding my breath.

I just called the financial aid office and they said I would be notified within 2 weeks from today....

I informed them that I have a deadline in 1 week and they said they would do their best but could not guarantee that I got my information before the deadline.

Right, but that's not what the woman said. Finalists for the named scholarships were supposed to have heard last week, yet nothing. I wouldn't be too hopeful that everyone will hear this week.

I got an email earlier today saying I didn't get the Root but that they were able to offer me some money. Also mentioned that I should hear the official offer from the Admissions Office soon.
I'm international, so they usually send me emails instead of calling.

Sorry you didn't get a Root, but thanks for keeping us in the loop. I'm banking on an AnBryce ding at the end of the week, and hoping I'll see finaid info in that e-mail as well.

Though I'd love to be wrong and get a second round offer.

I submitted everything in early February and I was accepted in December! It is very frustrating considering I have a scholarship offer somewhere else with a deadline this Monday and even though I informed them of this last week they did not update my file until I called today. NYU is my top choice but I am not sure what I will do if I don't hear in time...

I submitted everything in early February and I was accepted in December! I completely understand your frustration... After Columbia gave me a laughlable amount of financial aid, I really just need to know what NYU will offer me.

Columbia gave me a sad amount as well but also considering University of Chicago...there deposit deadline is April 15. I've asked the financial aid office multiple times about updates or to double check my fin aid application was complete and all they say is its under review....grrrr. I love NYU but this is frustrating

The AnBryce group is already set. The list of the 10 scholars accepting the offer came out a couple of days ago. Don't mean to spoil the hope. You still have some nice cash coming your way
