timing/chances?

Post by cidergirl » Wed Nov 30, 2011 4:04 pm

3.7/165/aa female here in love with michigan! i'm wondering if michigan gives a big preference to aps submitted before january 1? i am still working on my diversity essay and have some other loose ends to tie up, but i don't want to hurt my chances of acceptance and scholarship money! also, do u guys have any idea on what kind of scholarship offer i might hope to receive?

thanks for all ur help!

I don't really know about your specific situation but you could probably check http://lawschoolnumbers.com and search the URM applicants from last year who had similar numbers and who submitted in January. It's a small sample size but it's probably better than just speculating. But if there's any way for you to finish the app earlier (without sacrificing quality), I would definitely try to do so.

Good luck!

Apply early--especially if seeking scholarship money.

Ideally you'd have submitted before Thanksgiving. You're still okay, but you really want to submit as soon as possible.
