NCCU Class of 2015
I haven't seen a thread yet for this school so I figured I should start one.
My application went complete and in review on 10/25 and hoping to hear back soon
Good luck everybody!

ETA: nevermind. I looked it up. North Carolina Central. It's a historically black college in Durham.
Best of luck with your cycle!

i submitted all of my apps November 15th..i wasn't going to apply there but a rep I spoke with told me my numbers would probably get me a full ride. so i applied, but I've been getting acceptances from other schools so I'll be withdrawing my acceptance some time in the near futurecmartin5970 wrote:when did you apply? mine went complete and in review on 10/31 and the status date changed on 11/15 and now im anxiously waiting to hear back from them!

Are you a URM? With those numbers, you could shoot a little higher than NCCU. Definitely UNC/Wake Forest, and you'd have a good shot at Duke with money based on last years numbers.cmartin5970 wrote:okay thanks, i feel like i have pretty good numbers 163/3.5 but i still have not heard back...making me pretty nervous that its been so long and still haventanjmissy wrote:i submitted all of my apps November 15th..i wasn't going to apply there but a rep I spoke with told me my numbers would probably get me a full ride. so i applied, but I've been getting acceptances from other schools so I'll be withdrawing my acceptance some time in the near futurecmartin5970 wrote:when did you apply? mine went complete and in review on 10/31 and the status date changed on 11/15 and now im anxiously waiting to hear back from them!

I am not URM, i have applied to Wake and UNC but I really dont know if i can afford to pay UNC sticker price even though it is relatively affordable. the cost of tuition keeps increasing and will more than likely be in the $25,000 range by the time i graduate.

I really want to stay in my state and cost is a major factor for me because i am already in debt from undergraduate and dont plan on trying to go for Big Law or anything like that...i have applied to UNC and WFU though and depending on scholarship offers from other schools I may go to one of them twoanjmissy wrote:I'm a urm (black and lgbt) ...but yeah your numbers def qualify you to shoot higher..your lsat is higher than mine and I got into w&l which is a great school

Re: NCCU Class of 2015
Hello. I applied to NCCU right after the new year, and it's been in 'Complete and Review' status since 1/6. The last communique I received from them was that it would be 6 weeks, so I'm naturally worried. I haven't applied anywhere else, because I honestly just want to go there, even going so far as to move down to NC to get residency (I know the criticisms for that decision, so I don't need to hear about how stupid that is.)
Anyway, last year when I applied in late February, I waited until May to discuss it with my pre-law advisor, who spoke with admissions, and got the news that I was waitlisted. Their website says they only send out decisions by mail, and don't really appreciate any other communication, so I thought I might have overstepped a bit by having the advisor pressure the decision. But if I don't get a decision soon, or at least more information about my chances, I might try emailing them again.
So I guess my question is: has anybody gotten accepted there recently, and if so, when did you apply?
Oh yeah, info on me: applied for day and night program. 156 LSAT, 3.1 GPA. Personal statement written directly to NCCU.
Thanks.

I got accepted this week after waiting four months. I am going to tour the school soon and meet the people (hopefully sit in a class). Most likely will accept their offer unless I get financial help for New England Law.

I'm a graduating Duke 3L selling a 3BR/2BA house about 10 min from NCCU campus. Figured this thread might have some folks starting to look for housing. If interested, PM me.

Hello! I will also be attending NCCU in the Fall. I signed at an apartment over by Southpoint Mall and I-40. The driving distance to the school was really convenient at about 10 minutes. I think it will be a very good area being in such close proximity to the school, mall, etc.legaleagle2015 wrote:Hello everyone!I will be attending NCCU and I am still looking for a place to call home! Thanks for the reply. Yes I visited south point area. I stopped at the lodge and the first apartment by mall. Those are my favorite just a little more costly. I went 2 weeks ago and it was 845 now it's 905. The price is steady climbing.

I checked out the lodge as well and noticed that. Check out the Berkeley at Southpoint. They have one bedrooms in the 700 Range. And you can hop right on fayetteville rd to take you down to the law school. Their one bedrooms also have more sq. ft. than the one bedrooms at the lodge.legaleagle2015 wrote:Thanks for the reply. I found a place next door (Pine Ridge) to the Berkley a little cheaper. Thanks for your help! Class schedules have been posted to EOL.
