This may have already been discussed on here, but I was wondering what UP people were doing about housing? I'm coming from Oklahoma, and it is slowly becoming miserable looking for places without knowing the area.

Anyone still waiting on a decision? I applied in mid Jan and I just went under review on 3/16. I am starting to get frustrated because I was really considering Penn State but with seat deposits coming due at other schools it makes it hard to even consider when I have no decision at this point.

Have you tried e-mailing the assistant director of admissions? She was always really helpful for me. Might help bring your application to the top for consideration if they know your seriousness of interest. Wouldn't hurt.

I called several weeks ago before my application went "under review" because I was showing application received for almost 2 months. At that point, the man I talked to told me they were behind this year due to staffing turnovers int he admissions department and that I should be under review within the week. He was correct because 2 days later I went under review. Now I have been sitting there since 3/16 wondering if they will let me know something before I have to put deposits at my other school options. It just seems like they are taking a really long time to make a decision and it sucks that they had my application since Jan and just started looking at it a couple weeks ago.

When did you apply? I have been waiting since Mid-Jan and I am getting impatient at this point. I really wanted to consider Penn State as an option but I am not going to be able to if they do not give me some sort of answer soon.

easiest way is simply an email to the generic admissions email addy or a phone call.

I would just send a letter to the admissions office telling them that you will not be attending and thanking them for the offer of admission, blah blah blah...

You could email it to them on the email listed at the bottom of the status checker page or all of the contact information is listed on the website as well under contact us.

I think it took 2-3 weeks from the time my application went under review until a decision was reached. Hopefully you'll hear some good news soon!

Accepted from waitlist yesterday. 5k/yr scholly provided +3.0

Got an email asking me to call the admissions office and discuss my application, was accepted over the phone. To those on the waitlist, do yourself a favor and contact the admissions office just to ask questions/start dialogue. Whatever appropriate topic you can think of, as long as you can get it into their head that you want to go to Penn State.

They will take notice...

How long is the commute to Harrisburg (car, public transportation)?
Are there any decent gyms in the area aside from Golds?
