Gonzaga c/o 2015 (2011-12 cycle)
Hey everyone,
I submitted my app on November 3rd, but still haven't received an acknowledgement email. Just wondering who else out there is applying and whether or not we get status checker access for Gonzaga.
Thanks!

I applied the very first day apps were available(10/1). Still no acknowledgement of my existence on Gonzaga's part:)
Judging by my experience from last year's cycle, they seem to only start reviewing apps after Christmas.
I guess that translates to no rush on getting getting the status checkers set up.

According to LSAC my app was complete with them 10/29. I have heard from all of the schools I applied to except Gonzaga. Still no acknowledgement on their part.

I emailed Admissions yesterday and they informed me that they have not yet begun to look at applications (which is why no email has been sent out giving out status information, etc.).

Re: Gonzaga c/o 2015 (2011-12 cycle)
Finally received an email today notifying me that my application was complete. The status checker has a note at the bottom suggesting that once an application is in review it will still take 6-8 weeks for a decision. At least that is one step closer!

Congratulations Gonzaga applicants! You have one less person to compete with for a seat.
I just withdrew.

I just received an inexplicably large scholarship from a similarly ranked school. There's no way I would have chosen GU over this school considering the scholarship.neeko wrote:Why so soon?ineptimusprime wrote:Congratulations Gonzaga applicants! You have one less person to compete with for a seat.

Because of that, I'd rather not ride it out and potentially take a spot on a WL or a spot in the class from someone who would actually consider going.
Good luck everyone!

Man... They take forever to respond to applications. I submitted in mid-December and haven't heard anything from them. No status checker, no "thanks for applying!", nothing...

I've always wondered if they even work in that admissions department. It's 2012. It's the information age. There's no excuse for sending out a status checker in December for those who applied in October. It's definitely the worst first impression I've had from any school, person, etc., in my life entire life. Get with it, losers.
Good to see that your potential tuition is going to good use, right?
Before anyone nails me for having gripes with the school, I admit that bias here and now.

ya you would think that some of these lower ranked schools would want to hit hard and early with decisions and money to lure in students with solid numbers who probably will have acceptances and money from much higher schools before they even hear a word from gonzaga!

I don't know that Gonzaga necessarily considers itself "lower ranked". I think there is an obsession on TLS regarding the ranking of schools, when many schools pride themselves on producing quality attorneys in a specific region which may actually negatively affect their ranking. Further, if they wait for those who demand early acceptances to pick other schools, don't you think they may find a class that would be more committed to going to that school and therefore succeeding there? It's just my two cents...offering the other side of the coin is all .
Btw...I went into review today, which might be why I'm so optimistic.

Whether or not Gonzaga considers itself the Brad Pitt of law schools, it's still one of the Danny DeVitos.
If you want to work in Gonzaga's region, go to the University of Idaho for a fraction of the cost (though Moscow does suck).

I agree that in WA Gonzaga is pretty well respected (coming from someone who live and grew up in WA), my earlier statements were meant to be more of a general statement about lower ranked schools (which for many includes Gonzaga). Also Gonzaga has fallen on several rankings in the past few years so I am sure they are anxious to recruit students with high numbers, which justified or not is a high priority for law schools.msu1077 wrote:I don't know that Gonzaga necessarily considers itself "lower ranked". I am also from Washington and I know three recent grads of Gonzaga, of which, only one passed the Washington bar. Just thought I would let people know.

Complete and in review. I'm eager to hear about this one. I applied to almost all of the Jesuit law schools in the country and besides New Orleans, Washington is a place I could see myself settling down.

Good luck! May I ask what date you went under review? My status changed on 1/9/12 and the blurb at the bottom says 4-8 weeks from when the committee receives the application. Just curious if they are exceeding or meeting their set expectations. Thanks!CaptAdams wrote:Decision made... Guess I have to wait for a letter.
