Just came back from the reception at California Club and WOW it was swanky! And I actually got to network too! Great people and alumni... Definitely leaning toward USD after tonight... Very excited.

Sounds like it was a good time. How many other admits made it? I had to bow out last minute because I was sick.

Not sure the exact number, but something around 30 admitted students showed up.there were also the dean and admission staff. Overall everyone I talked to were successful and had nothing but nice things to say about USD.

I wonder what that means for you. I haven't seen anyone go through two completes in past cycles or this one. I'm still sitting at my original date but my date is around yours so yours clearly means something. Good luck!

Same thing happened to me. I was file complete 12/19 and then 2/20. I emailed USD admissions about it and was told that it doesn't mean anything. Still waiting as of now.

I'm going to take a campus tour/info session/lunch with admission person on Saturday. Anyone got any questions? Let me know!

I've been complete for 4.5 months now. This is kind of crazy.

I thought USD was a school that sent their scholarship offer after their admit packet? You could always follow-up though because as people get accepted now, it's later in the cycle and the school may not be able to offer any.

Did you apply FT or PT? I think the thing to understand about USD is that they make the bulk of their decisions after April. It's one of the schools that appears WL heavy because so many people apply to it thinking that they want to relocate to San Diego, but then they way the actual move and it ends up being more costly than they think. Plus, they think about the over-saturation of the CA market with law schools and people start to drop out. Sitting at a long complete date doesn't necessarily mean a bad thing, until it does. :)

I'm not sure if the law school admissions goes on Spring Break like the rest of the student body, but this past week was San Diego's Spring Break for anyone that hadn't looked into this bit of information.

Hey guys! So I FINALLY got my admit packet on Saturday after pestering them about it (I had DR 2/10). There was no mention of a scholarship in the letter - does that typically come at a different time? I'm wondering if they also messed that up and never sent it either/sent it to the wrong address, or if I just didn't get one. I feel bad bugging them again about something else, though. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks!

They send scholarship offers separate from the admit packet. I would give it a little bit of time and then follow up with them if you don't receive anything. Did you confirm that they were sending your packet to the correct address?

Well they confirmed my address in the email, which is also what's listed on the status checker so who knows what happened with the first packet! And I just figured that since I went DR on 2/10 I would have heard by now about a scholarship offer. I thought I might get something with my LSAT, but who knows. I suppose I'll give it until the end of the week before I bug them again! Thanks, Pleasye!

You're welcome! I have lower numbers than you and received a scholly offer (I withdrew though). I definitely think you should get something...

I waited a over a month for a scholarship offer but when I didn't receive anything, I sent an email asking whether there had been a mistake. I felt with my numbers that I should have been offered more than just $4,000 in work-study via email. They apologized and said that a mistake had been made and that my scholarship letter had never been sent out. I received it in the mail 3 days later with a grant for $23,000 per year. I think its definitely worth it to ask!

Good to know! Yeah I received the email with the Financial Aid breakdown and it basically pre-approved me to take everything out in federal loans. There was not merit scholarship in there, so I was a bit confused. I will definitely send along an email! Thank you!!

Just received a $12000 grant over the weekend via snail mail.... was hoping for more, but still may go here since all of my law related ties are in the Southern
California area and I don't feel like moving out of state.

edit: Anyone going to the reception in Irvine?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
