Went complete 11/21, no word since :(
same time as first post. Emailed today to ask what was going on- they didn't start reviewing apps till late november, so that is the 6 week start date. And they had a week off for Christmas. Basically they said don't worry, it's all being handled. Decisions are coming in the next couple weeks.

I received a financial aid information e-mail. It was just the basics, urging me to submit my FAFSA as soon as possible/looking into guaranteed housing options/etc. Nothing on merit scholarships... I'm wondering if they're going to send another letter (I wish they would just send a big packet).
I wrote an email asking about scholarship info. They will be sending those out "within a couple weeks."

~3.0 / 169

Completed 12/19, accepted 1/6

Just filled out FAFSA today...really hoping that helps for need-based aid.

Sorry for the folks that it's taking a while for; everything's gonna be fine soon enough for you!

Just got my acceptance letter. Got the email Jan. 6th. Nothing about a scholarship, just that financial information would be coming later.

Would you take it, horrorbusiness? Just wondering how much you would consider that offer in comparison to other offers you've received.

i might. if i got some need-based aid too or something that got my closer to a full ride, it'd be pretty tempting.

but even then, full ride at UCI vs sticker at cornell? that's a tough call if you're a CA native that wants to work in CA (aka me).

I agree. I'm in a very similar situation. Pm me for details, I don't know how to send a pm from my phone.

What in the fuck?

30k/year scholarship offer by mail. Totally wasn't expecting that.

whoa whoa whoa, I thought UCI would be giving out uniform schollys (i.e. everyone getting 33%)

Agreed. I guess as an east coaster I'm gonna have to wait until at least tomorrow to find out what I've been deemed worthy of.

That was for class of 2014. I think this year they are acting more like a typical law school with scholarships (albeit I could be wrong). There will a range I think form no scholarship to full ride based on merit, some money for public interest scholarships, I think I heard some for need based, and I wouldn't be surprised if other scholarships popped up.

There is someone in my class who gave up Cornell sticker for 1/2 ride at UCI. To my knowledge they are happy with that decision.

FYI the financial aid letter doesn't discuss scholarships. You'll receive a separate letter from Janice Austin.

When UCI sent the email informing me of six weeks I thought awesome. Turns out that was an empty promise, and it frustrates me. Luckily I got some acceptances so it's not that bad, but it definitely feels whack still waiting.

Got my scholarship letter today with an offer of 8k per year. I'm pretty disappointed as I've got some really good offers from other schools so hopefully I can do some negotiating to get it up to 20-25k per year because I'd love to go to UCI.

Rejection letters have started...just got mine. It was expected though since my scores aren't competitive. Good luck to everyone else.

Snail mail or email? Wow I thought theyd have a few waves of acceptances before rejections.

Just to clarify, was that need or merit?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
