11/10 (via LSAC "requested")
11/15 (status checker)
No movement other than that e-mail last week informing me that my application was....................complete.

The waiting game is killing me. Still hoping for some movement this week.

It would be nice to get updates every once in a while. I like (and greatly appreciate) how the Dean of Wake Forest takes the time to address concerns on these boards.

+1. That's been the beacon of light keeping me sane while UNC continues to play it super aloof with updates/acceptances.PurplePirate wrote:It would be nice to get updates every once in a while. Re: UNC c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Has anyone on here actually contacted the admissions office to see if they could offer any information at all regarding a time table for their next round of decisions?
With UNC being my top choice, I personally have not for fear that any contact with them at all could either delay my process or simply annoy them to the point that it could hurt my chances. Still, I read a number of posts from last year's thread where applicants *had* contacted the admissions office (a couple that had even talked to Dean States). In these posts from last year, it seemed that each applicant who made the call, benefited from it. I would love to hear someone else's experience in doing this during this year's cycle, if any of you have.
I did contact their office during the first few weeks after my submission, but only to ensure that various things from outside sources had been received.
Look forward to your replies, and best of luck to you all!

Sadly, many of us feel the same. It shouldn't be that way though.Tarheel19932005 wrote: I personally have not for fear that any contact with them at all could either delay my process or simply annoy them to the point that it could hurt my chances.

Re: UNC c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
chapel hill is a spectacular school operating on public funding, and unlike some of the other top public law schools (i'm looking at you, michigan), it's been working very hard to keep tuition costs down. all those updates and fancy packages from the private schools come with a (much higher) price tag. i think the unc admission office is doing the best it can with the resources available, but it may still mean we applicants don't hear as much or as often as we'd like.
that being said, i can't imagine that contacting the admission office would hurt you, provided you are polite and respectful. if anything, caring about your admission to chapel hill has to be a mark in your favor.
FWIW, i expect that the slow acceptance cycle is just a consequence of all the things we really love about chapel hill. it doesn't mean they don't care about us or don't want to hear from us.

Re: UNC c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Because the status checker specifically mentions their desire that we not phone in to ask about the status of our applications, I've held off calling/emailing. I don't want to give UNC any more reason than it may already have to reject me.PurplePirate wrote:Sadly, many of us feel the same. This sucks. I just need to know.
ETA: Exact wording ("We ask for your patience to allow this process to take place and request that you do not contact the Office of Admissions to confirm receipt of materials.") is a little different than my above sentiment, but I'm still entirely comfortable with phoning in.

UNC and Wake are the only two NC schools I applied to, already got waitlisted by Wake so UNC is my only option for going to school close to home. UNC is also the only school that I am STILL waiting to hear back from.

Honestly, everytime I see that someone has posted something to the thread, I get excited and hope that some decisions have been released...

agree 100%... I always check this thread instead of my actual application status because that never actually changes..sdphill wrote:Honestly, everytime I see that someone has posted something to the thread, I get excited and hope that some decisions have been released...
