They should want to bump up their median LSAT number you'd think because it is looking like it'll be somewhat mediocre.
They accepted me with a 171 (took twice) and a 3.52

I will be withdrawing soon as well...after I figure out a proper way to write the letter.
Well it only makes sense they replace a 171 withdrawn with a 171 who is still waiting to hear.

Submitted today. Unlikely that I'd attend given UIUC news from a few months ago, but we'll see.

Probably true but then again that's also true of a lot of people who get arrested for alcohol related incidents. They don't get a freebee just because "most people probably do it."
Not trying to start an argument or anything, just sayin. Already been accepted to UIUC with some $$, and I'm definitely considering coming here, but what happened is certainly on my mind (meaning its possible effects on the school's reputation).

I'm totally with you, banana dude.
So I propose everybody in this thread without a G in their name withdraw immediately. Show the lying bastards that we won't stand being lied to.

Yep, this.
To be honest, a couple years ago I would've been thrilled to get UIUC, but between realizing the state of legal hiring and the numbers scandal I'm very hesitant to go. On the one hand, I'd like to work in Chicago. My other option with my current numbers would likely be WUSTL. But on the other hand, I'm not sure it's worth the uncertainty to go here. We'll see. I certainly wont hold on to an acceptance long if I decide I don't want to go.

+1
I have ties to both STL and Chicago, but with the recent events + Chicago legal market i will have to wait and see where all I get in and weigh if it is worth the likely cheaper tuition @IL but have to worry about summer subleases and such.
I will still be thrilled if IL would just accept me so I can have a tough decision to make!!

I was just being sarcastic anyway. Hope we both get in! I will probably negotiate 1/4th more in scholarship and then attend UIUC if accepted.

From the admit email:
"You will also soon be receiving more information about how to register for one of our Admitted Student Open Houses, which we will be hosting on March 30th and April 13th, or Alumni and Admitted Student Receptions, which will occur in March in Houston, Chicago, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Washington, D.C. and New York. These events offer a great opportunity to see for yourself what makes Illinois such a special place to study law and meet other members of the Illinois Law community."

That is pretty cool that you can go to admitted students’ weekend in your area, so you can meet people from around you that are thinking about going to UofI. I live in Chicago but am from St. Louis, I wonder if I could go to both if they are on separate weekends?
(Assuming I even get in, come on IL, throw me an acceptance please! Or at least let me know where I stand. In Review purgatory is the worst! In review since 12/22!)

I just got held yesterday with fairly lackluster numbers. How realistic do you guys think it will be to get accepted off a hold?

To be honest, you're below both medians... this year I think they will be more worried about their numbers because of the scandals so softs might not matter as much as they would have in the past.

Hard to know for sure since its a different admissions person now, but they used to and I don't see why they wouldn't continue to do so
