Re: Wake Forest 2012
Greetings TLSers~
I know that many of you were hoping for a positive decision today. Unfortunately, because of the increased volume of applications and the uncertainty in the application pool I am taking some time to evaluate our projections for the year. Thus I've decided the prudent course of action is to hold off on anymore admits until our analysis is complete - probably next week. We've already released the denied and waitlist decisions for the week. If you applied before December 31 and you didn't get a deny or waitlist decision today, it means you are still in contention for a seat and will most likely have a decision next week. Obviously, if you applied after Dec 31 your application is still in the pipeline and should be released on it's targeted date.
If you have been waitlisted, please know that we may not review your file again until after first deposits in April. Still you may submit a letter of continued interest (LOCI) identifying any factors you'd like the committee to focus on or updating any activities or awards. We will be happy to meet with denied or waitlisted candidates after initial review has been completed in early April.
I know by delaying release of any admits today we're putting candidates through prolonged agony, especially since I said last week I thought we'd release decisions for applications received prior to January 1. I do apologize and appreciate your patience with the process. I, of course, have to make sure we meet institutional goals on a number of important factors (class size, LSAT, GPA, diversity, scholarships, etc.) and the extra thousand or so applications we're projecting at this point means I need to be very careful with offers. I trust you'll understand my predicament and bear with me a little longer.
Please feel free to ask any questions here, PM me, or contact me directly.

Although this is really depressing news, I am glad you tell us things like this. Just another reason I love this school.WakeLawAdmDean wrote:Greetings TLSers~

ROUGH Cycle for all involved... Does NOT look promising for my application as I was Mid January with a 159 and 3.66 GPA... Gotta hold out hope that work experience as well as NUMEROUS extracurriculars will help out.
Sorry all who got the bad news,
I can celebrate being OFFICIALLY under review tonight... so here's a beer for under review... something to think about just for fun: Right now am Asian guy from Harvard is surprising the entire NBA.. Anything is possible

I got waitlisted back in Jan. with a 159 and 3.9 GPA... hopefully they will utilize the waitlist this year but there seems to be a lot of people on the waitlist with high LSAT scores.

For those of you that have gotten decisions, how long after you went "under review" did you receive a decision?

I feel like you can't expect a "general" response time. Some people have gotten in rather quickly (especially back in December when there weren't many apps in) but for the most part, it's been a long wait. I went UR 12/16 and I am still waiting. Many people have still been waiting from the end of November.CwallXC322 wrote:For those of you that have gotten decisions, how long after you went "under review" did you receive a decision?

And, to prove her point, I went UR on 12/16 and heard back on February 3rd. It's anyone's guess when you'll hear back, but Dean Shively has been pretty open thus far with regards to release dates.ashley12 wrote:I feel like you can't expect a "general" response time. Under review as of Friday. I loved following this thread, but the smell of wait list permeates the air. Anyways, what's the consensus on a decision? Feb 24?

I went under review on Friday as well. This is just speculation of course, but I am thinking that they might do the same thing they did last week and hold off on any more admits but release the denies and waitlist decisions. I hope that they hand out some admit decisions this week (and I hope I'm one of them), but as long as I don't get waitlisted or denied on Friday I will consider it a good week and breathe a sigh of relief.

Hmmm...I applied early January (163/3.59) and am not under review yet.

FWIW I'm also ready for review and applied in early/mid January. I asked for a target date and they said it was still too early to tell but they thought mid-March.reinbowbrite wrote:

I wouldn't worry too much I applied in mid-November and didn't go into review until January 24th.

Re: Wake Forest 2012
I emailed Dean Shively last week for a projection on my decision date. He said that they expected to have a much better idea of projected decision dates after the decisions go out this Friday. If you don't get any feedback on Friday, I'd suggest emailing him for a decision projection next week.reinbowbrite wrote:RaiderBlue17 wrote:ROUGH Cycle for all involved...
