I thought I was the only one with the FAFSA e-mail and no admittance. That seems like an odd e-mail for people that haven't been accepted.

Technically 8 weeks will be on Thursday, January 12th. But by all means, please share any news!

You're telling me...this is the highest ranked school I applied to, so I don't expect to get accepted. This email was frustrating.

Got a fee waiver today, but I don't know much about UW living in FL.

Totally. I had a few email chats with the dean, so when I saw his email pop up on my screen, I about jumped out of my seat... And then I cursed.

I know it doesn't ease anyone's paranoia but I would suggest even waiting til the 19th. Our review time included Thanksgiving and Christmas. I would not include, at minimum, the week of Christmas in the 8 week count.

I also received the nasty false alarm FAFSA email this morning. All I saw was "UW" in my email box and my stomach did a flip..until I saw FAFSA, then it was like a slowly deflating balloon. I did the obligatory status check (just in case) and found that I continue to be in the 11/17 club..AKA the first circle of Hell (limbo).

I wish I could take it as a sign, but since UW's FAFSA deadline is 28 Feb, I'm pretty sure everyone got it. Rats. Foiled again.

I am also a fellow member of the 11/17 club.
And so the wait continues..

I have been "Ready to Review" since 12/5/11 and I got the FAFSA email as well. I wonder why I haven't gone Under Review yet?!

Rejected.

I've had a good cycle so far, so I can't complain. Best of luck to everybody else!

Via email.

It's no problem, really. Like I said, I've had a good cycle so far and gotten into some schools that I think are a great fit for me.

Just FYI for other applicants, I got the same "put our school code on your FAFSA" email earlier today. Good luck!

Yes, I second that observation- especially considering the intensity with which I have approached opening my email in the last twenty minutes when I notice something in my inbox on the toolbar. I like sneak up on it..gently...while wearing this excruciating pain expression- then I exhale when I see it is just from Amazon. :|

Does your status change to decision rendered, or decision letter sent or something?

Changed to Decision a few hours before I got the admit email. The letter that came via snail mail had a nice handwritten note from Dean Testye; very nice touch!

So UW tweeted their excitement about decisions only to deliver waitlists and rejections? This plus the fafsa email adds up to one ridiculous day. I guess I'm glad I didn't hear back today...

Wait-listed today. 3.7, 168, non-urm. I also got the FAFSA e-mail. Good luck to everyone else!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
