I'll be there tomorrow morning, hoping to get some reassurance about job prospects for out of state students.

It was the faculty and students promoting the program with no reservations and a lot of pride. I was impressed with the faculty and alums I met, the facilities are great, friendliness was the norm. I could definitely see myself going there, you just have to be committed to working in Florida.

HOW can I still not be in review?!?!?!?! This is getting insane... I know I'm still within the 3-month window, but just barely (applied Jan 9th).

Re: FSU c/o 2015 applicants
I'm taking this information at face value, but I just got off the phone with the admissions office (trying to rush my application since I have a time-sensitive scholarship at another school) and they told me I would have a decision within 2 weeks.

It was quite enjoyable. The faculty, based on the small sample I saw, seem to be very energetic about what they do. I liked the campus and, having gone to FSU for undergrad, I like the area as well.Miachick wrote:Anyone attend ASD last Friday? If so, what was it like?

Re: FSU c/o 2015 applicants
I went to the first ASD, and I was impressed by the down-to-earth nature of the faculty and staff; everyone was extremely friendly and I think it was obvious to everyone that the warm, welcoming attitude wasn't just an act put on for ASD. The new facilities are also very nice. The students I met were awesome, and I also got hammered drunk with undergrad friends at the strip (trips to Tally are always fun).
I was really hoping FSU would try to beat my offer from UF, but it doesn't like they are going to offer me anything. Shame.

I think I remember you. I might end up at UF as well, depends on UGA. I also had an awesome time at FSU's first ASD, and could definitely see myself going there, but I don't that this that would fly with my mother (parents are helping pay) who is a huge UF fan haha.

Re: FSU c/o 2015 applicants
I agree with the comments above, I was really impressed with all of the facilities during ASD especially the old courthouse. From my experience at ASD I believe that FSU has closed the gap with UF and both will provide a quality education, UF's edge might be a larger Alumni base. Anyone looking to go into the public sector I believe FSU being located in Tallahassee could work to your advantage. With that being said, I like the two posters above will most likely end up in Gainesville as UF has offered me much more in the way of aid than FSU. Either way GO NOLES!!!

Re: FSU c/o 2015 applicants
I emailed Jennifer about being reconsidered for scholarships over a week ago (I have offers from other regional schools making it cheaper than FSU at in-state sticker) and have received nothing back.

I received a grant but opportunity cost for me doesn't make it equal W&L. Extremely hard to withdraw though, but I know people are waiting for spots ... will get around to that soon I think. Everyone was so nice, though! And I loved everything, but ultimately I wanted to end up in VA anyways.

If we did not receive notification of a scholarship today, is it safe to assume that none is forthcoming?

I never received any communication soliciting my application for a merit scholarship but didn't expect anything anyway. I did receive and submit an application for need-based scholarship aid. Does everyone get this application?

I've been complete since 1/5. So can I expect a decision within the next 3 days then?
