Hey everyone, applied ED 10/4 (still waiting on one more letter of rec to be sent tomorrow, professor was out of the country) and went to the open house 10/10. If you guys are interested in some tips for the open house, let me know.

A combination of a few things. First, I love the school. I would be a third generation student and the 6th in my immediate family. Second, everything current students told me about the law school appealed to me. For example, the lack of class rankings makes them feel like a collective unit rather than competitors (or less so than some other schools). Third, when I was flat out denied for undergrad I used in part to motivate me. Lastly, when I sat down and looked at all the schools I was applying to I realized I wouldn't attend any of them over ND. If I didn't apply ED and got rejected, I would always wonder what if. Also, after visiting other law schools (NU, UM, UofIllinois, UofIndiana) ND blew me away this past weekend.

Cool man, well good luck!

I would imagine you getting in specially with ED. I applied as well but more of a reach for me.

Do you know if EDing when your numbers are below the LSAT 25% help your chances at all?

I'm sure it helps, but idk if it would help enough...it might? Just depends on the other stuff, like GPA and the rest of the application.

My GPA is a little above their median and I have some really strong softs and recommendations. It's my top choice, so I hope it is enough.

If your gpa is at or above the median, then you will have a decent shot

I think the whole median thing really doesn't matter too much at ND. Sure, they like high-GPA and high LSAT scores, but they seem much more interested in whether a person is a good fit for the school (and ND is the only school who I'd actually say this about). Look at LSN, there are waitlists all over the place.

Put good effort into your application to ND. I wrote a real sincere "Why ND" essay and got accepted with a big scholarship, despite not having pretty average numbers for a ND applicant (and just based off LSN, there were many higher GPA/LSAT applicants who were waitlisted). Actually read their online materials and why they think the mission of the school is, what the school is trying to provide, and connect it to your life.

Best of luck to everyone.

Email the admissions office. I think they send something to LSAC or a check directly to you. I know of several top schools that have done this b/c people apply right after score releases or whatever and get fee waivers the next week.
