App in 10/1. Any idea how long it'll take to get an answer?

According to LSN, the first decisions last year were on Christmas Eve. Fortunately, it looks as if they were all acceptances.

I applied 10/1 too, but Seattle is the only app with a status that hasn't gone complete yet...

About 3-3/4 years, when you likely graduate with no job prospects. great school educationally, fantastic city, great people, good party school, LOUSY job prospects. Go to a top-20 or don't go...it's that bad.Lilberkie wrote:App in 10/1. Any idea how long it'll take to get an answer?

Hey Debbie Downer, the economy of 2011 is not the economy of 2015. Go rain on someone's parade who actually is asking for your opinion. If you didn't apply here, find something else to read, or go outside and find some sunshine.
There are plenty of other threads on TLS where people can read all the reasons not to apply. This thread is for people who did anyway.

I only FTFY because I'm sure he's getting his data from Law School Transparency, which only has information as recent as 2009, making it even less indicative of the market in 2015.un-vordox wrote:Hey Debbie Downer, the economy of20112009 is not the economy of 2015. This forum is for people to share news of acceptances, rejections, or WLs. Unprompted posts like this from non-applicants will be considered trolling, and you will be banned. Hopefully, this can be dropped now so it doesn't further derail the thread.PDaddy wrote:About 3-3/4 years, when you likely graduate with no job prospects. great school educationally, fantastic city, great people, good party school, LOUSY job prospects. (Let me translate that for any clueless readers: Drop it, now.)

I submit 10/2, went complete 10/6 and now am 'in review.'
I know that the trend shows they don't send out the first acceptances until around Christmas but I was told by an admissions counselor there about a week ago that they are going to try and get the first round out earlier this year. She said that these days students want to know earlier and earlier and they are trying to keep up with that demand. She told me they would try to review the first batch in early November.
Good luck everyone!

I received a medium-sized/ somewhat thick envelope in the mail today from Seattle U. My heart started pounding as I slid my finger under the flap to open it...it was a financial-aid brochure from the school. That is just mean-spirited.

What kinds of stats are you guys/girls working with? I just got my score back and it's a 161, so above their 75th, but my GPA is below their 25th quartile.
Do you think I should retake...? Or apply early with a 161...?

My GPA is below their 25th, but my score is 159. The Seattle U Rep and the Lewis & Clark Rep at the ASU Law Fair (here in Phoenix last week) didn't think I would have any problems. I say apply early.

My numbers are both well above their 75th, and maybe it's willful ignorance, but I refuse to believe numbers are everything, so I'm still nervous! :/ Good luck, all.

Re: Seattle University c/o 2015
Really? That's encouraging, but still confusing. The data on Lawschoolnumbers pretty clearly indicates that 162 is Lewis and Clark's cutoff (aside from some URM outliers). The data on Seattle U is a little less cut and dry, but it seems like with a 163+ everyone is in.un-vordox wrote:My GPA is below their 25th, but my score is 159. Do you think they're maybe just saying that to get as many people to apply as possible?

Re: Seattle University c/o 2015
It's possible, but the L&C rep had me write an additional letter and email it to her so she could add it to my app, while the Seattle rep just emailed me today. I don't think they'd waste their time if I didn;t have a chance. I told them both my stats.Do you think they're maybe just saying that to get as many people to apply as possible?
Also, they way I look at it, a quarter of the students L&C accepted last year had a LSAT score 2 points below mine, and my score is just below 75th percentile for Seattle. That doesn't say much for the lawschoolnumbers.com cutoff.
With all that said, I am still nervous, but I don't have any concrete reason to believe that I have no shot.

I know full well that I would be lucky to hear anything before Christmas (based on LSN) but I still fell into the trap!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
