Alabama would only cost 6k my first year, and then I could establish state residency and reduce it down to only 3k a year. There is a top 40% stip however. Still, Alabama is ranked 35 compared to Tulane's 47. I really wish Tulane would negotiate, but it is even stated on their website that they don't.
Just read this...screw what the website says...Like I said I went to Tulane for undergrad and I negotiated 16K/yr. I also plan I negotiating again for Law school since another school offered me more money. Send and email or call and talk to a scholarship committee member and say Tulane is your top choice but money is a deciding factor and other schools offered you a lot more money. The worst they can say is no. Its worth a shot.

Re: 2011-2012 Tulane
Can any current students on here speak to job prospects outside of LA and the surrounding region? I am from PA, and I feel like there is some solid Tulane name recognition in the Mid-Atlantic region, but it's tough to know about job placement. I'm not set on returning to this exact area after graduating, but I am hoping that a Tulane degree will give me at least some geographic flexibility and options. Some of the bigger firms in PA and NY seem to do OCI at Tulane, but I'm wondering how much love Tulane grads actually get from firms based in other regions. Any insights would be much appreciated!

I wouldn't say that. It took me a while to hear back. I wish you luck.gilliansaltz wrote:Ive been at complete since 1/19, Im guessing my chances are pretty crappy right now?

So I'm sure that this has probably been answered already... but how do they notify you of decisions. I see you get some sort of gift bag (which I not-so-secretly really want), but do you get notified via status-checker/email/phone prior to the gift bag? Congrats to everyone who as already been admitted and good luck to everyone else still waiting (not so patiently!).

I'm not sure whether I'll go in early or late March. But I'm definitely going to one or the other.pugilistjd wrote:Anyone going to the late March ASW?
I was notified by e-mail. But I think some have been admitted through the checker.ZoonEchonLogon wrote:So I'm sure that this has probably been answered already... but how do they notify you of decisions. How many completes have you been through? I'm at my second complete at 1/5.gilliansaltz wrote:Ive been at complete since 1/19, Im guessing my chances are pretty crappy right now?
I also know that people heard all the way up until May/June I think. Your status only changes when any decision is rendered period so don't think it's a no go until you have to.

Well I would send an email, but I don't want to bother writing it if I know it is going to be sent straight to the trash like I think it is.lmaccaro wrote:Dash41 wrote:If money wasn't an issue, Tulane would be my number one. Havent posted in this thread in a while. Still under review at 11/8. Wtf is taking so long? People have been rejected and wait listed already. At this point it'd be nice to hear since its kind of disheartening.

If you didn't get your gift bag already, you can call and they'll tell you what they're offering you (I did - I was impatient). Our numbers are similar (3.3/164 here) and I got $25k, so I predict you'll have something similar.Sunneklaas wrote:In via email (3.19/166) anyone whos already received their acceptance (and lovely gift bag?) wanna care to predict scholly offers, if any? It's all good and I appreciate it. Got another LSAT score on the way to give me hope for other schools. I saw you were accepted to W&L. You considering them at all? I am on the WL right now; hoping to get off it with a better LSAT.Dash41 wrote:I'm sorry nole. Also denied at Tulane. It was a reach for me, but I gave it a go.
Happy to have a decision either way, plus Tulane is ridiculously expensive. Not sure if it would've been worth that investment right now, given that I didn't see myself in the state of LA long-term.
Good luck to the rest of you!

Appreciate it. Hope your score comes back soon and you don't have to wait forever like everyone did in December. I probably won't be attending W&L because I wasn't given enough money. I hope you're able to get off the WL.noleknight16 wrote:It's all good and I appreciate it. Got another LSAT score on the way to give me hope for other schools. I saw you were accepted to W&L.
