How late do schools accept students?
Not sure if this is in the right board, but oh well. I'm going to sign up for the December LSAT, it's my first one. I only started thinking about law school about 3 weeks ago but now I think I really want to do it. My question is, with rolling admission cycles, is applying in late December too late?

Here are the responses you are most likely to get:
1. Where do you want to go?
2. What's your GPA? Have you even started looking at the LSAT?
3. Don't go to law school. Just don't.
So if you want to respond to all of those, we can be really efficient in this thread.

1) I'm looking real hard at Chicago-Kent for IP law, but I'll probably apply to a few other schools in Chicago like Loyola or Depaul.
2) My GPA is a 3.35 in electrical engineering. I've just started studying for the LSAT.
3) I want to do patent law, simple as that. Not sure how much a faceless person on the internet is going to sway me when all I want is to ask how late schools accept students.

You will be at a disadvantage in relation to people who took the June/October LSAT since most schools using rolling admissions (Chicago-Kent included) but the December LSAT is not late. Just make sure to submit the application as soon as you get your score.

Is it enough of a disadvantage that I should think about waiting a year to apply?

It's a sliding scale - so depends on how you do on the LSAT. You could end up costing yourself significant amounts of $ though - I took the December LSAT and did not get much $ from Loyola, who told me they were running low on schollys to give out.roz77 wrote:Is it enough of a disadvantage that I should think about waiting a year to apply?

I took December 2010 LSAT, applied January 10th this year, and thought I was pretty successful. Links in profile.
