Hey everyone! I just turned my app for UT in last week and now I'm checking the application status religiously. (I'm not very good at being patient in this sort of thing... lol) Anyone else out there who's applied/planning on applying?

applied a couple weeks ago, currently under review. hope to hear soon. based on last year's info the longer you were under review, the higher chance of waitlist/reject.

That's my fear! But it's only been 7 days so I'm trying not to get too worried yet. Although, apparently some people last year got notified in just 13 days!!! what are your numbers, if you don't mind me asking?

I've applied. Also under review. The admissions lady told me when I visited that they tend to do them in batches. The committee meets, goes through a pile, and decisions are made.

she didn't happen to say about how long it usually takes did she? lol. I'm wondering how often they meet to review...

She said whenever they get enough apps in to make them worth reviewing.

I'm guessing they got a few in right away, and the next big batch will come in after the results of the Oct. 1 LSAT, which is probably around Oct. 21.

I'm not so much waiting for news of getting in as for scholly news, and that could be awhile....

I hope not. I wanted to get my app considered ahead of everyone taking the LSAT in October to get a better chance..

mine updated too!!! Ahh!! WHY on a friday?! Now I have to wait all weekend before I can even HOPE to get a call or letter. But I'm going to tour UT on Thursday so hopefully they'll volunteer more info then if there's no news yet....

Just got a call...I'm in...I asked about scholarships and the answer is not yet, not for a long while. Cool your heels till Jan. or Feb.

3.98/167. Like you, I live here and would like to stay bc I love Knoxville and UT, and I've heard so many good things about the school from alumni, including that despite the economy, job prospects out of here are still quite good because of the strong Vols alumni network.

But I have a family, so scholarship money will be paramount for me because I can't mortgage the kids' future on my law school dreams. The financial aid person told me again that it would be Dec. earliest before we hear anything on that, and more likely Jan. or Feb.

How 'bout you all?

Yeah, I'm a 20 year old single mom to a 1-year-old so I really need some financial help. But, I have family in the area so at least they can help me cut down on child-care expenses. I'm hoping to maybe get a fellowship (A long shot I know...) but hey, a girl can dream.

In today! Out of the schools I applied to, I only knew that Richmond called with admissions decisions, so that was a nice surprise!

Agreed! I got my call today too and was very pleasantly surprised!

So excited!

...now I just need to wait around to hear about scholarships.

Finally finished my application today. They start reviewing after the full application is received.

Has anyone heard back from the Tennessee Law Scholar and Research Associate Program? Priority deadline is tonight. Does anyone know what numbers the program is looking for? In/out of state?
