Yep! I'll be there. I was obsessing over trying to choose between two other schools, and finally got the email for UGA. Thank the Lord. Turned out to be the easiest decision of my life.gregfootball2001 wrote:Congrats! Should I assume from the excitement that you'll be attending in the fall? Good luck. It's still before the seat deposit deadline, so hopefully some seats will open up then.bluebubble05 wrote:congrats, i'm super jealous.ahenson7 wrote:I'M IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But that also makes me wonder. I had emailed the ugajd email my LOCI, and when I called to confirm it, the guy on the phone said they didn't receive it :/ Maybe you should call them? They're really friendly over the phone.in2win wrote:Can anyone tell me how long it takes for admissions to respond to emails normally. I don't know if this would help or if the two events are even related, but when I called admissions (very flustered about my application being in review so long) the receptionist told me to email the Associate Dean of Admissions directly with my question. I emailed him and then got my acceptance notification the next day.bluebubble05 wrote:But that also makes me wonder. Worth a shot.

That's a bummer. I got a call from Alabama yesterday with a really nice scholarship offer. It would be almost impossible to turn it down, but a similar offer from Georgia would seal the deal for me.BKCentral wrote:Tried and said they didn't have any to give out.legalJacket wrote:Has anyone had any recent success in negotiating merit aid? I've tried and failed with $28k from Bama, OOS sticker at UGA.mxmatt137 wrote:That's a bummer. I got a call from Alabama yesterday with a really nice scholarship offer. Atlanta native here. Withdrawing today. Kinda breaks my heart, but a laughably small amount of scholly $$s are going back into the pot

UGA seat deposit due today.
I hope... enough applicants withdrew so that they'll at least have enough spots open to accept me off the wait list

Don't know if that's a good or bad sign... good that wait list is moving, bad that we haven't been accepted.georgia32 wrote:

I'm hoping there will be a lot of people withdrawing because of LSN, but it's difficult to gauge because it's not representative and people don't update their status.
Here's to wishful thinking...

My status checker used to always say you've been put on the waiting list. Now it says I still need to apply, do any of you think that means I've been rejected? Sad day.

!!! Mine too. Maybe they're just updating... for good news?! Positive thoughts? Ah, it makes more sense to be a rejection (realistically speaking).georgia32 wrote:My status checker used to always say you've been put on the waiting list. I didn't think they would update anything on the weekends. Maybe it's a computer glitch?

That's weird... you'd think they would keep you hanging on the waiting list longer than that. If they were going to reject you that quickly, I don't know why they didn't do it to begin with.georgia32 wrote:My status checker used to always say you've been put on the waiting list. Don't lose hope; the day after I got accepted I called the school and they claimed they had no idea who I was and that my name was nowhere in the UGA system. It could DEFINITELY be a computer issue.

They could've received the last of their seat deposits and received way too many deposits for their anticipated class size (220). My UGA law friend overheard an administrator telling a professor that UGA is strict on its class size. But I guess we'll find out tomorrow.ahenson7 wrote:

UGA always has more people put down the 1st deposit than actually end up matriculating since it's only $50.bluebubble05 wrote:They could've received the last of their seat deposits and received way too many deposits for their anticipated class size (220). Status went back to waiting list this morning, so it must have been a computer glitch.

Received a letter in the mail today granting me a slight increase to my scholly. Makes my decision a little be tougher certainly, but always a nice way to finish my last day of undergrad classes

I'm still waiting to hear about getting accepted off waitlist. They really should change their first/second deposit thing.

I'm hoping for the same thing. Me, too-- an increase of about 1/3. Glad to hear something positive after a lot of silence. Good luck to everyone waiting out there.BKCentral wrote:Received a letter in the mail today granting me a slight increase to my scholly. In off the waitlist as of Friday. Looks like they have extended me the wonderful offer to attend OOS @ sticker. : /
Would scholly information come in the acceptance package or can I hope that I'll be getting another letter in the mail soon?
Thanks!
