Wow, that's awesome.

On a different note, I'm trying to decide between finding a roommate and getting a one bedroom. What are you guys thinking? Also, ill be at the second ASW, and will think of something distinctive to wear lol...
i thought of this as well and i'll be looking for a roomie, just because the thought of being in a town in the middle of nowhere living by myself kinda scares me..lol..so ive started to email real estate agents to see if something is available for next year school year yet..a lot of their websites though are fairly old so thats why i had to email..some replied and said to set up a meeting when i visit for asw...so thats what i will do

Since I imagine most students leave LexVegas for the summer do they just pay 2-3 months rent without living there or how does that work? any insight is appreciated!

i would believe so..unless they can find a lease thats only 9 months long..but thats how any apartment/lease works..here at jmu i simply sublease my space during the summer months...but i really wouldn't want to find a place and have to pay for 2 months that I won't be there..my ideal lease would start in late july/august

I'm bringing my SO because she'll be moving with me to law school and I figure her opinion is probably important.

We'll be looking to rent a house, ideally. Two or three bedrooms, at least two baths. Yard space for a dog.

Anyone else thinking of bringing a parent? :)
I know there's a lot of debate over this in other threads. Just curious if anyone is.
I will probably travel with a parent but leave them to roam Lexington while I attend events. I hate traveling alone. Looking at March 16-17 but I'm unsure right now

Nice to see all the Texas love from my fellow boot wearers. I'm thinking about Feb because I need to get a feel for just how cold VA is going to be that time of year. Does anyone know when you can formally reserve a spot for a certain date? I don't want to book plane tickets then not be able to change them to March.

Pretty sure in an e-mail it said January 9th.

I'll also be going to the one in February. Was surprised to see that even a flight just from ATL to Roanoke is more than the $300 stipend, but maybe I'll get lucky and find a deal before I book it.

Cheapest flight I can find from ATL to Roanoke is $385. But driving would take over 7 hours each way. Sigh.

But I guess I can't complain, $300 travel stipend is much better than most other schools have been granting. My favorite are the schools that will only reimburse travel expenses upon matriculation at that respect school. Thanks but no thanks.

I'm surprised you couldn't find anything cheaper, I booked a flight from Texas for a tad over $300.

Yeah me too. That's definitely good for you though that you were able to keep it really close to the travel allotment. Granted, I've only been checking every now and then for the past 2 weeks, and probably won't book for a couple more weeks to see if I can get lucky.
