Since I imagine most students leave LexVegas for the summer do they just pay 2-3 months rent without living there or how does that work? any insight is appreciated!anjmissy wrote:i thought of this as well and i'll be looking for a roomie, just because the thought of being in a town in the middle of nowhere living by myself kinda scares me..lol..so ive started to email real estate agents to see if something is available for next year school year yet..a lot of their websites though are fairly old so thats why i had to email..some replied and said to set up a meeting when i visit for asw...so thats what i will docoldshoulder wrote:Wow, that's awesome.anjmissy wrote:For those of you who have decided on w&l but still look for ways to justify your decision like me check this site out. --LinkRemoved--

i would believe so..unless they can find a lease thats only 9 months long..but thats how any apartment/lease works..here at jmu i simply sublease my space during the summer months...but i really wouldn't want to find a place and have to pay for 2 months that I won't be there..my ideal lease would start in late july/augustPrincetonLaw wrote:Since I imagine most students leave LexVegas for the summer do they just pay 2-3 months rent without living there or how does that work? any insight is appreciated!anjmissy wrote:i thought of this as well and i'll be looking for a roomie, just because the thought of being in a town in the middle of nowhere living by myself kinda scares me..lol..so ive started to email real estate agents to see if something is available for next year school year yet..a lot of their websites though are fairly old so thats why i had to email..some replied and said to set up a meeting when i visit for asw...so thats what i will docoldshoulder wrote:Wow, that's awesome.anjmissy wrote:For those of you who have decided on w&l but still look for ways to justify your decision like me check this site out. --LinkRemoved--

I'm bringing my SO because she'll be moving with me to law school and I figure her opinion is probably important.
We'll be looking to rent a house, ideally. Two or three bedrooms, at least two baths. Yard space for a dog.

I will probably travel with a parent but leave them to roam Lexington while I attend events. I hate traveling alone. Looking at March 16-17 but I'm unsure right nowallmodcons wrote:I'm definitely heading to the February ASW!
Anyone else thinking of bringing a parent?
I know there's a lot of debate over this in other threads. Just curious if anyone is.

Nice to see all the Texas love from my fellow boot wearers. I'm thinking about Feb because I need to get a feel for just how cold VA is going to be that time of year. Does anyone know when you can formally reserve a spot for a certain date? I don't want to book plane tickets then not be able to change them to March.

Pretty sure in an e-mail it said January 9th.hookem7 wrote:Nice to see all the Texas love from my fellow boot wearers. I'll also be going to the one in February. Was surprised to see that even a flight just from ATL to Roanoke is more than the $300 stipend, but maybe I'll get lucky and find a deal before I book it.

On another note, registered for March 30-31 open house; any other New Yorkers coming down then?

Just registered for the February ASW! I've already visited the campus and area before (almost came here for UG), but haven't really seen anything in the law school so definitely excited!

Re: W&L c/o 2015
Cheapest flight I can find from ATL to Roanoke is $385. But driving would take over 7 hours each way. Sigh.
But I guess I can't complain, $300 travel stipend is much better than most other schools have been granting. My favorite are the schools that will only reimburse travel expenses upon matriculation at that respect school. Thanks but no thanks.

I'm surprised you couldn't find anything cheaper, I booked a flight from Texas for a tad over $300.

Yeah me too. That's definitely good for you though that you were able to keep it really close to the travel allotment. Granted, I've only been checking every now and then for the past 2 weeks, and probably won't book for a couple more weeks to see if I can get lucky.freaknroll wrote:BKCentral wrote:Cheapest flight I can find from ATL to Roanoke is $385.
