Accepted today. Great to get the first acceptance of the cycle - finally some positivity after months of uncertainty.

Congrats to everyone.

There are admit packets? All I got so far is a letter (with a bumper sticker!)

Should clarify. This is what I got. Not an actual packet.

Has anyone joined the "W&L - Admitted Students Group" on facebook that was mentioned in one of the B. Twitty emails?

I was thinking about joining, but I'm not really sure what I can get out of it if I don't yet know if I'm going there.

Anyone in the group want to comment? Is it even useful?

I joined it. They have a bunch of current students to answer your questions. I haven't really had anything to ask, but it's nice to read the other questions and hear responses...some of them may be relevant or interesting to you.

I did not receive a sticker :( All I got was a letter with information about some "woman-lawyer" student organization.

Like everyone else, W&L has been great with quickly processing my application and returning emails quickly. I'm sitting still right now, they are just waiting for my December LSAT retake so hopefully that will help, though W&L is not my most tenable choice even if accepted. Great, historic school nonetheless.

I joined. Its cool to browse and stuff / has some decent info, but a lot of it is also just obvious W&L advertisement type responses

Hopefully.. I see that you also got into William and Mary. Which of the two schools are you more likely to go with and why?

I'm thinking William and Mary purely because of the location, otherwise W&L seems pretty awesome!

Both schools have an amazing amount of history and that's what first drew me to them. Out of W&M and W&L, I think the best way to determine which one I would have preferred was to go visit both and see which school was the most comfortable for me.

My personal preference without having visited yet would have been W&M as well, by a tiny margin because of location, however my experience has been that Washington and Lee has a lot more laymen's prestige attached to it and a JD from W&L may be more portable (it's total speculation but I'm on the west coast and many more people I'm spoken to recognized W&L compared to W&M).

However, I haven't given your question too much more thought after getting a t14 offer. Maybe if W&L offers a sholly that blows me away, that would change but W&M's scholarship came with a stipulation that I had to work 8 hours a week at their library. That pretty much turned me off.

Sorry... I wish I could be more hopeful. I'm sure you'll pick the right school for you. :D Good luck on the rest of your cycle!

ETA: I'm glad you got your sticker as well!!

Is there anyone from the 11/10 acceptance group who still hasn't gotten their letter in the mail? Although from previous posts, it doesn't seem to be all that important. I'm just concerned I will miss more important mailings (i.e. $) in the future. On that note, I just checked my status checker and it mentioned a WLSO mailing last Friday. Could that stand for W&L scholarship office? It said it was a letter, not an email.

I sadly haven't, but only because I'm home for the break. It's killing me wondering what could be sitting in my mailbox right now...

Mine says that too. I hope that it is $$ info. Now I can't wait to check my mailbox when I get back to my apt!

It was very pointless / no big deal at all you missed it, but for scholarship offers I'd call W&L and ask if they have your correct addy on file

Also wtf I don't have that :(

All I have is :
