My pre-law advisor and the Dean's at UF both said most law schools prefer more like a CV rather than a resume so that they can have more info about the position you held and what exactly it entailed. I think thats why most schools have a 3 page limit

Would be great if people could add their decisions to LSN so that others (especially in future years) can benefit from the information. I know some of it is painful...... but let's try to share. I know I'm going to be rejected, but will put my stats up there for others. THanks!

Are y'all talking about me? I haven't been rejected quite yet. I will post when I do, though, I promise. I am on LSN. I was just noticing how many people got rejected on Saturday and Sunday. :)

Not talking about you. Didn't want to aim request at specific person so thought best to quote your more general comment. :D

When I went to check my status it logged into a different website than the normal status checker. Has this happened to anyone else?

How long after you submitted your application did you get your status checker info?

Just wanted to echo this advice. I sat in on a session with the admissions deans of Chicago, Penn and Michigan. All of them said the "one-page" resume rule doesn't apply to law school applications. They want as much information as possible to make their decisions. HTH

Sorry I meant different from the normal UT status checker. I realized what happened though I logged in through the UT direct icon on the front of the main UT page. It took me to a different site than the link in the email with the UT EID did.

I guess everyone will follow their own conventional wisdom. Never heard this, never received any advice that made this important or mandatory and have had nothing but success in two different cycles. If you can can competently fill three pages, go for it. I just think that a lot of the kids that apply to law school end up hurting their applications instead of helping them because they have to BS their way to a 3 page resume. I have tons of extracurriculars and full time work experience and I still keep it to one page.

Your mileage may vary. :)

How do you know its complete if you haven't gotten a status checker? When did you get your "App received" email?

I received the call earlier this morning. Accepted! I will go ahead and post my stats which may provide a bit of hope or reassurance for those of you still waiting.

* Also I should probably note that I am a current UT Student. However, I'm not sure how that may have effected the decision.

Applied: Nov 1st - ED
Status Checker Received- Nov 15th
Accepted- Nov 21

Wow the roomie just came back with the mail and had my acceptance package to UT in hand. I never got a call, and don't remember anyone in this thread not getting a call before their acceptance in the mail... did I miss anyone? If not that's kinda weird, but I'll take it!

They never called me. For whatever reason, some people just get the status checker change & acceptance package.

Do scholarship offers come in the initial acceptance packet or in separate mailings?

Separate small envelope

Congrats! :) I've heard from several different people that UT undergrads do get a boost in admissions to UT law (one of them was my old LSAT tutor who graduated from UT undergrad).

My LSAC report was requested 11-10 and send 11-11. It is complete and all my LORs and essays were attached. Is that not what "complete" means?

App received email on 11-12.

Before I email the admission office today to ask about this:

Is there anyone who was admitted before 10/31 that hasn't received their admissions letter yet? I was admitted on Oct. 31st and no admissions letter yet. I think they may have mailed it to my current address abroad (even though I told them on the application and in a separate email to please mail things to my U.S. address).

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
